Its comments like this that intimidates me within this forum, and prevent me from seeking advice on occasions.
Why post such utter offensive remarks, you can get your point over quite easy, without having to be offensive.
Fair comment but I agree the guy is a moron and thick as pig !!!!!!. I think the quote
"remain quite and be thought a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt" is applicable in this occasion.
Hes telling the OP to lie through his teeth when the guy doesnt know the difference between a laptop and a harddrive.
My advice to the OP would be:
Speak to Comet and tell them what you have said here, your not happy with the performance of the laptop, they can only tell you to !!!!!! off. But dependant on Comets policy you might get the HDD one instead of the SSD one."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"
"There is no spoon"

cool thanks, im pretty knowledgeable when it comes to laptops and computers. just not too familiar with linux. plus i cant b bothered to go buy a flash disk to reformat it.
if they say no im jus guna open it up and put a new hd in seeing as i gotta open it up anyway to put more ram in.
it would jus be cheaper for me to spend another £45 to get the 120 gb hdd which is better.0 -

Jesus i miss read the question....and you talk to me like that!!!
Its amazing how HARD people get when they are hidden behind a computer screenIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

You can't AFAIK. It uses a SSD which isn't the same size as a normal 2.5" lappy.
What you can do is to put in a memory card though. That would have the added benefit of making it dead easy to move your documents and media files from one machine to another.
At the end of the day though, these netbooks aren't about performance. They're about portability and battery life and that means sacrificing speed. It looks like you bought one thinking it was a cheap laptop. Although there's some feature creep, they're a different category of computer.0 -
Why not? You're the one instructing the OP to commit an act of fraud. Are you aware that incitement is a criminal offence?
and your going to do WHAT??......oh yeah call me a moron....damn i best repent before god or hand myself in to the nearest police station
and i wasn't instructing
v. in·struct·ed, in·struct·ing, in·structs
v.tr. 1. To provide with knowledge, especially in a methodical way. See Synonyms at teach.
2. To give orders to; direct.
v.intr.
well i wasn't teaching him and i wasn't giving him an order.......i was suggesting......
SUGGESTING is not a criminal offence
Now i've actually paid attention to his post, i would SUGGEST that he try and use the "unfit for purpose" as he needed something that writes to the HD FAST (which in this case the SSD obviously doesn't)
Or is that a criminal offence to???
So sorry you law abiding person you (thats TWO of you on this site)If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I think the OP would have a hard time claiming the goods aren't fit for purpose.
That section of the Sale of Goods Act does not extend to "any matter making the quality of goods unsatisfactory where the buyer examines the goods before the contract is made, which that examination ought to reveal".
Presumably the OP knew it had an SSD before he purchased it. Comet aren't obliged to let him return it just because he's changed his mind.
There's no harm in asking I guess though.0 -
A friend of mine got one of these and he also opened it up and put more memory in it. He installed XP too and he created a ramdisk which he says the browser caches is on the ramdisc which improves speed. The ramdisk is just a small program btw
I was quite take back how good it is he even runs divx from it and plays back HD movies from his camera using vlcplayer
He is in IT so he knows what he is doing but he only paid £200 for it from Currys
This is the one he got with 8gb
