My other half went yesterday evening with a large group having booked and confirmed a table for 7:30p.m. When they got there the place was only half full but still had to wait another hour before being seated. She mentioned the 50% voucher and was told it's fine.

Then when the food was ordered it took 25 minutes for drinks to come out and the starters 45 minutes later.

The service was very poor with only 2-3 waiters. By this time other groups and couples were getting pi**ed off and when food came out people started cheering and clapping.

To make things worse, when the bill came the manager refused the voucher saying that he wanted to see some ID.

My wife showed him her NI card, child benefit book and credit cards but he still refused saying he wanted to see some picture ID.

During this a few couples walked out without paying because of the poor service which prompted the manager to call security.

They came and just stood there not interrupting but just watched the fun.

My wife then called me and explained the situation and because of this I had to take a taxi with her passport to the PizzaHut to give him picture proof.

***BE WARNED*** make sure you take picture ID if you wish to use the 50% voucher.

Obviously, I will be writing to Head Office to complain.

Ive used the voucher 3 times and not had any problems with the voucher or the service, ive not even been asked for ID despite me being the 1 handing the voucher over when it came to pay,

I went to pizza hut last night and I've never seen such a shambolic set up in all my life!! Waited 30 minutes for a table but was then told there was a 40 minute wait for food even though the restaurant was only half full. We were then shown to our table which was next door to a children's party who proceeded to throw food and spit across the table at each other for the two hours we were there!! Then we were told that they didn't have any medium, small or deep pan bases left. We then ordered 4 salad bowls, but when we went up to the salad bar only half the salad bowls were filled. We were told that they had run out of some of the salad items. There was also a 15 minute delay between our first dessert coming out and the last dessert. We complained at the end but they just looked at us as if it was our problem and not theirs!! Never again!!

Colchester's Turner Rise branch is quite good, but the one in the Town centre is really crap.If you do happen to end-up in Colchester, then I can recommend 'Sloppy Joes', only been the once with my Beaver Scouts, but was well impressed with the cleanliness & speed of service (and the 10% discount one of my Beavers parents got us through a Union-issued discount card). And this was on a Saturday lunchtime as well.

Sounds like the 50% vouchers have had an adverse affect

We had to wait nearly an hour for a table I had booked THREE WEEKS PREVIOUSLY for my partner's birthday. For 14 people.

You'd think they might treat a large group better, but oh no.

The manager's attitude was disgusting, flippant and dismissive - I sent a complaint over a week ago and have had no reply as of yet..

We paid for my daughter and her friends to eat there for her birthday in May. We spoke to the branch and took time out of work to take her a surprise birthday cake for them to take to her table.

The meal came and went and I picked up my daughter only to find that the cake was still sitting in their fridge, everyone denying knowledge despite a clearly highlighted message next to our booking and a huge label on the cake box .

We did get vouchers for the cost of meal but means you have to go back and re-live it all again.
  • I have only been to a Pizza Hut once ever and I will never go again. The waiter was very nice but the service was very slow and they had run out of the ice cream that we wanted and the place was incredably noisey as well and we thought it was over priced as well.

What a great night we had last night. Took the family. No queues. Happily accepted the voucher. Served with a smile. Lovely food. 10/10 Pizza Hut :D
