Shambolic scenes at PizzaHut last night.

My other half went yesterday evening with a large group having booked and confirmed a table for 7:30p.m. When they got there the place was only half full but still had to wait another hour before being seated. She mentioned the 50% voucher and was told it's fine.

Then when the food was ordered it took 25 minutes for drinks to come out and the starters 45 minutes later.

The service was very poor with only 2-3 waiters. By this time other groups and couples were getting pi**ed off and when food came out people started cheering and clapping.

To make things worse, when the bill came the manager refused the voucher saying that he wanted to see some ID.

My wife showed him her NI card, child benefit book and credit cards but he still refused saying he wanted to see some picture ID.

During this a few couples walked out without paying because of the poor service which prompted the manager to call security.

They came and just stood there not interrupting but just watched the fun.

My wife then called me and explained the situation and because of this I had to take a taxi with her passport to the PizzaHut to give him picture proof.

***BE WARNED*** make sure you take picture ID if you wish to use the 50% voucher.

Obviously, I will be writing to Head Office to complain.

It's put me off using mine, don't think I'll bother going at all.

  • They accepted the voucher ok when I took my kids but the service was awful. The waitress was lovely but that was as good as it got. They brought out our starters & we had just started tucking in when they brought our main course out too. They also brought out the wrong meal for my son so had to take it away & he had to wait while they sorted out the right meal. They did offer him a free ice cream as an apology ( with value of £1 :j). A bit shambolic really. Wouldn't pay full price for a meal in there.

    Don't get put off.

Not all branches are the same. My wife went to the Bradford Leisure Exchange branch.

isn't Pizza Hut (even witht the couchers) really expensive??

Most independent pizza takeaways do lovely 10" pizzas for under £5 each.

Yet it seems one reasonably big pizza at Pizza Hut (maybe 12") can cost up tp £14 !?!

    Overpriced?

You are comparing takeaway with a sit down meal tho, i went with my wife and 2 kids ,and had 2 pizzas , 2 kids meals , drinks and ice cream and it came to just over £18 using the voucher way cheaper than a takeaway
  • Oh no, sounds like night from hell!
I haven't used my voucher yet, but my sister used hers last week and had a lovely time.
  • How ridiculous - a def case for their head office! I bet they will worm their way out of it as the small print does state photo ID should be taken, although I certainly wasn't asked to show mine. I think the trick might be to go on a weekday lunchtime if at all possible when it's quieter, as I was speedily served and the food was fine. I think it's a good money saving voucher (starters, mains, desserts and drinks for two adults and one child were less than twenty quid for us) - so I hope others aren't unduly put off x
  • I wouldn't go again. The food and service were both crap and I didn't even have a voucher to use!! I'll stick to Cafe Rouge, their food is great although they never seem to have any good discounts on............shame.
