Hi GlasweJen, I also work nights at Asda, and I fully agree with you about the green shirts, totally useless aren't they lol, we've asked if we can have the black George shirts but no luck so far.

As for the trousers, well a couple of our girls wear skirts so perhaps you could ask your personnel office to order you some. I've rung for replacement uniform as no one is ever in the office on nights. Good luck fellow slave lol.

I work in sainsburys, if you have lining in the torusers, just cut it out, I do!! LOL!
I would call in the union peeps and health and safety, if you are having a reaction to the fabric they have to make reasonable steps to help you out.

hey jenie, certain depts at our ASDA are getting night team polo shirts, are you lot getting them too? also don't you have those daft uniform request forms? we just hand them to the night shift manager and let her deal with them.
  • Hello, I worked at Asda Longsight and so long as you wore equally hideously cut black trousers as the ones they provided, they didn't mind (or notice?) but I started wearing their uniform skirt, it was much more comfortable and I wasn't the only one for long, straight away a lot of the other ladies noticed my skirt and went and asked for their own. This was before the latest uniform change though so I don't know if they've made their uniform skirts/trousers any worse than they were before?

These uniforms are bliss compared to some I've had (anyone else worked there long enough to remember the sky blue dress with poppers down the front?)

btw, skirts should be available as they're on the uniform poster we have up in the staff (opps sorry colleague!!!!!) areas.

I'm currently annoyed at the fact they've redesigned the xmas uniform, and now you CAN ONLY wear the new stuff...but it's ok cause if you bring back your old stuff you get 20%off...i'd like a straight swap for stuff thats only had one months wear out of it thank-you very much!

If you've had a UTI and thrush as a result of these trousers then go to HR and say you refuse to wear them, you will wear your own black trousers instead. It's a health and safety issue!

Hi again GlasweJen, havn't heard about the night team polo shirts but hope we get them, much more practical. Requests for new uniforms on nights always seem to disappear at our shop, they don't mind if you ring and order them though.
Hope your legs heal soon, my son suffered from the same thing and got something from the chemist, its advertised on tv but I can't remember what it was called, sorry.

Did I read this right, do you have to buy your uniform? If so then you definitely have cause for complaint. Take it back and say it's not fit for purpose

No, t-v-t, we don''t buy our uniform, but we can buy the Christmas shirts and fleeces if we want to wear them, they're not compulsory though.
