take the itch out my trousers?

I work for ASDA, we need to wear the trousers provided, problem is that they make me itch like crazy at the top of my legs and my crotch area. They are the right size but made of that cheap trousers stuff, cheaper than the material used in the £5 George trousers we sell. My question is is there any way to take the itch out my trousers?

  • :rotfl: sorry, shouldn't laugh but my DD has same problem as she works at a supermarket that uses the same material.

Shes found that wearing cotton shorts style pants helps a little or putting on a pair of cotton cycling shorts underneath the trousers helps a little.

I think its time staff had a word with management about this problem. It can also cause various 'health' problems associated with a warm enviroment (i don't want to spell out the problem, but i think girlies will no what i'm on about:o )

Does Asda offer the option of wearing a skirt? maybe this would help

    no, just the trousers :(

My main problem is that i bend down a lot (warehouse) and everything ends up twisted because of that bloody material. Management don't seem interested as they can wear their own black trousers.

Umm time to make a stance i think. Skirts are just as practical as trousers and more 'airy'

My dds supermarket does offer the option of skirts, though most employees opt for trousers.

Why oh why can't they make the trousers out of cotton? how about making a suggestion of going 'green' (supermarkets love green:rolleyes: ) cottons a natural ingredient and can be made by 'fairtraders'.
It would put Asda up there with the best if they could have there uniforms made by Fairtraders.

i don't think it's going to happen, many have already asked about different trousers or a skirt but it's taken them years to change our shirts to something less likely to do damage on the night shift yet somehow only certain departments are getting them meaning that some of us are still wearing health and safety hazards at night.

Perhaps that's the route to go down, call in the health and safety man to get the clothes banned.

I'm intrigued, why do the shirts cause damage on the night shift?

because we're restocking we get them caught on shelves and hooks and can end up hanging from said shelf if we try to get down from our stands while still attached. Also the boxes we lift rub against the buttons causing irritation and can lead to buttons popping. The light green shirts dirty easy as well and they're impossible to get stain free but that's not health and safety just against our uniform policy.
