Anybody reckon the millies cookies recipe would work with a chopped up tub of glace cherries that needs using up rather than choc chips..? x0

I seem to be doing really well so far..... Have only spent £1.31. But as my cupboards & fridge were full to bursting, it's no real surprise.
Just had some broccolli I found while organising the freezer. Well it looked and tasted like broccolli, but may just have grown in there!!
I'm resisting the urge to go to the supermarket as I know I cannot be trusted. However, when I finish work tonight, it'll be Whoospie time so I may venture in. Nearly got sucked in last night but no point in buying something just because it's reduced. Especially if you don't need it or could buy it cheaper at full price by going for the value range.
Can't believe how obsessed I have become with the whole challenge. Hopefully it'll replace my "buying because I can" obsession.
Have also decided to walk to work instead of taking car. For 2 reasons really, petrol prices being the main one and the other being it's not far enough to justify taking it. Tried it yesterday, everyone at work thought my car had broken down :rotfl: They couldn't understand why I would leave the car at home. I shall persevere with this one.
Have almost managed to keep up with all the posts, and have picked up some good hints. You lot are really supportive of each other. Im so glad I joined.:beer:1st GC Oct 08-£100/£6.130 -
Good evening everyone
It's day 7 of my grocery challenge and still haven't spent any grocery money at all. Am really pleased with that although I've been eating some strange combinations of things just to empty the freezer and cupboards. Had some chicken, sweetcorn and mushroom risotto for dinner with baby beetroot, which was jummy. I've also got some HM butternut soup, HM potato bake (Chicken, bacon) and more risotto in the freezer for the next couple of days.
Cheers
Casper

Went into tesco earlier to buy the biggest chicken I could with £4-5 to do 3 meals and ended up buying the 2k frozen bag of value pieces instead, how expensive is chicken getting!!!The large birds were almost £8!!!Where can I buy affordable chicken?
Got some bread reduced to less than 1/2 price too which I will wrap in 2 slice parcels and freeze so that I can take one out each night to defrost for DD,s packed lunches.
2 bacon & leek quiche in the reduced cabinet cost me less than £1 so they will do for 2 meals over the month with either salad or beans.
Can anyone direct me to the thread where people post the times the grocery reductions are done in various stores please?"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -

Aldi's biggest chicken is £3.20.
I'm afraid that chicken will probably keep going up in price because the cost of feed is going up. Same situation with pork unfortunately!“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. Hmmm.
A big spend today (a few deals such as the salmon and more yogs, cheese etc for DS) in Tesco's- spent over £100 already (exact amt in sig) and another good few weeks to go, however am quietly confident. There will be no more Tesco shops this month and my aim is to do the milk/fruit/veg/small bit top ups locally (small Coop, local butcher, couple of very limited shops)- thus saving diesel too
.
The freezer is jam packed, the cupboards are full and there is plenty in (to make all wonder of things lol). Time to spend some time doing stuff other than wandering round supermarkets (there is more to life) such as playing with DS, going to park, making Christmas cards, x-stitching, relaxing, baking, cooking etc
(and maybe having the odd chat on here too lol).
So anyway, I have posted again today (even though I said I would not), welcome all newbies and good luck.
