The headphone jack is standard and you can hook up to most ipod docks as long as they have a line in connection.No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Popesock - The review you linked to cannot be for the same model as the headphone jack is standard on the £17.49 model.
I have used the player all day yesterday and have not had any problems with file compatability/locking etc.
I do not use my mp3 players for video so can't comment other than to say this player comes with software to convert video. The manual states;
"The player can only play back video in AVI or WMV format. Use the video converter to create video files which can be played on this device"No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
Thanks OP! I got one today and I had Nectar points to spend so I got it for a bargainous £4.99!! I'm also delighted that it syncs with Napster to Go as I wasn't sure it would because it isn't on their compatible list. The only criticism so far is that the controls are a bit fiddly and it takes a bit of practice to get the technique right, but who cares at that price!
PS It also charges with a Motorola phone charger that I have!0 -
Thanks OP, I also bought one today and I am so impressed with how easy it was to put a couple of music vids on it (the iPod still confuses me).
My 24 year old son was also impressed, so much so I have to back to Argos tomorrow for another one so he can use it for work.:beer:Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before0 -
Would the videos on Itunes play on this? I have a nano, but if I purchased a music vid on itunes will it play on the argos machine?
Cheers
AFAIK videos purchased from itunes are in DRM-protected M4V format. I purchased a tv series from itunes, intending to copy it to DVD (as you would be able burn music to cd) but found that itunes videos can only be watched on a pc or on your ipod. There are programmes such as Tunebite which can supposedly convert files, but the free version didn't work for me and it was v complicated! Basically, there might be some (dodgy?) way of converting the files but you can't just drag them onto your non-ipod-brand MP4 player and watch. Hope that makes sense.0 -
Maybe a stupid question but does anybody know if this has got a shuffle mode?

So I discovered - and I bought one. Only problem, the controls are hugely unresponsive. You have to actually bring your finger down on the play button from a height to get it respond. And the middle slider seems entirely random. Has anyone else encountered this, or have I got a duff one?0 -
Excellent...I have ordered two x0

There is a random mode.
As well as music, I have put some videos on. Originally recorded from tv on Humax PVR, then recorded from there onto Grundig VP6200 as .asf files. Used the software with this machine to convert to .avi files (simple) and they play fine. (Sound synchronisation is a little off.) It took me a while to discover that you can watch in full screen mode, rather than letterbox!
V pleased with purchase. Thanks OP.0 -
This item is out of stock on all stores near my home or work, so I was wondering if anyone has got a code for free delivery as £5.95 delivery is an 1/3rd on original cost £17.49.
