My 30GB ipod broke this weekend and the model I want to replace it with is not yet available, so I picked this up as a stop gap.

I'm really very surprised at the quality of this unit and it looks good too. The player installed easily and shows up as a new device in my computer. You can drag & drop music or pictures from your hard drive or use Windows Media Player if you want something a bit slicker.

Sound quality is I would say a little inferior to the ipod but I've yet to tweak the Graphic equaliser. The interface is faily straighforward to use although a little strange after the ipod - but u soon get the hang of it.

    For £17.50 its a steal.

" Windows ME, 2000 & XP automatically recogbnise the device as a mass storage & install the correct drivers."

I have Vista and it worked fine.

Incidentally the player can only be charged via the USB although you can buy a USB plug from Amazon for £4 if you don't want to lug your laptop on holiday

  • Excellent value considering the 2GB player in the same style is still £34.99

  • Don't mean to sound thick but would this work in the docking stations you can buy? I fancy an ipod for music in the house but they are a bit pricey.
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.
