  • Aww awesomeness!! You obviously really believe you've gotten a princess there :)

She might not always want to go out... sometimes its silly things... like buy her heart shaped haribo, or write her a card - those little day to day things that you "happen to see" and make you think of her :)... Or maybe cook for her? and put candles out etc? I call them "christmas nights" as I always do them for birthdays and Christmas... but its our time to eat and spend quality time together :) .... P.S. Pizza hut still has 50% off food offer on I think?!

Why are you spending £20 on her every week? Why aren't the two of you budgeting for trips out and either sharing the cost or one of you choosing an outing and paying for it one week and the other doing the choosing and paying the following week?

This is the 21st century - whatever happened to equality?

There is always one spoil sport! This guy is obviously an old romantic, let him enjoy it before he grows old and cynical like you!

Not old and cynical, just female and wondering why it's a one-way process with the man paying all the time!
  • Maybe it's not - we don't know what her budget or financial situation is.

Anyway the OP asked for ideas, not morals!
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right

    Totally sweet of you!
I would recommend signing up to Martin's money saving tips email and keeping your eyes open for the restaurant deals. I've used them quite a bit when going out with my OH.

You're supposed to be moneysaving. Dump her - and spend 15 pound a week on me instead! You save a fiver a week and I get a lovely fella

    You're funny:rotfl:

I bet your partner rubbed his hands togther when he met you!

    if you have one
  • Thanks for all the replies. We were actually at Pizza Hut the other day with the 50% off voucher - £6 each in total - bargain!

The way we've worked out our budgets means after essentials and savings etc, I have £20 per week spare and my girlfriend has £40 per week spare.

Sometimes from this 'spare money' we do things on our own - mostly football for me, then the rest of it goes on doing things together. Despite this, I like to feel like I'm treating her as much as possible (yes, it probably is old fashioned) so any ideas to stretch it further are appreciated :)
