Treat my girlfriend on £20 per week

Options
So I've worked out my budget for the next year and it looks like i'll have £20 per week spare to treat my girlfriend. Does anyone have any suggestions on stretching this as far as possible?

  • a night out to the movies, some weeks rather than going stay in and put the saved cash towards the next weeks budget :) then perhaps the next week go out for a nice meal etc. Bowling, ice skating and loads of other things are all in the right price range for a trip out for you both. But then again im not sure if you mean treat as in take her out, or as in buy her stuff, how often u want to buy stuff etc.

I did mean taking her out and doing stuff, thank you :)

We are both students, so going to the cinema works out ok - Student prices plus 2for1 voucher from studentbeans (as long as we don't buy cinema food). I'm also registered with SeeFilmFirst so sometimes get free viewings.

I saw a restaurant she likes has a lunchtime special - 2 courses for £4.95, so that can be half the budget one week.

We like comedy, so the midweek comedy club nights are pretty cheap too.
  • Awww i just wanted to say how sweet you are, i doubt my OH would ever have a budget for me :rotfl:
Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month
  • Winter picnics are always fun - get out to your nearest beauty spot/coast/woods or even the park if you're in the city - lay a rug down, even light a couple of candles and take hot soup in a flask and cold wine; it's actually quite romantic!

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

  • These are some of the things me and my DF do together on a budget!

Swimming & Sauna (our friend works at the local council pool so we sometimes get in for free too!)
Cinema 2 for 1 with Orange Wednesdays
Play pool with friends (or not) at a local pub (cheaper with friends - and we drink slowly while playing!)
Visit the local park to play crazy golf, or perhaps hire a rowing boat and go down the river (cheaper than you think, but summer only)
We bought a book/magazine thing with loads of local walks and do these depending on the weather - with or without the pub lunch.
Nice bath bombs from Lush, tub of luxury ice cream, maybe some new lingerie and spend a night in!!
Get a map, choose a place about 20-30 miles away we've never been to and take a drive, then pretend we're on holiday.
Watch the vouchers board and local papers for discounts on restaurants and go out for a meal.

Have you seen this website? It depends how good your local one is, and whether it's reduced at the moment, but if you are thinking of spending £20 a week it might be a good investment.

I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right
  • Crikey how sweet are you? My hubbys idea of romantic is putting a wardrobe together while the kids stay at my mums (tonights treat)

I can't complain though, bless him, he bought me a Greggs pastie back from work. The new chicken one apparently. Haven't the heart to tell him it was too spicy for me to enjoy
  • You're supposed to be moneysaving. Dump her - and spend 15 pound a week on me instead! You save a fiver a week and I get a lovely fella
