Thought id stick my neb in :D

I too only enter ones that are relevant. I won a 3 day holiday to newquay and since then (although it was utterly lush and i dont regret a minute as i needed a break at the time) im weary of having to travel long periods - petrol costs & spending money add up! - if its only for a couple of days.

I enter about 100 plus a day! Im off sick at the moment so its just a habit really, I enter comps while watching the tv and inbetween housework,. I enjoy it, however geeky that sounds :rotfl:and as we cant afford any treats its a handy way of getting things you would have no chance of in real life.
    Nerdy Comper since 2005:D

I enter anything that I would like to own, or can use, That said I probably wouldnt use a boat but would still enter the competition because of the high value.

I never enter tickets because (unless to a theme park) because I wouldnt go and dont know anyone who could use them.

I usually do some dailies and the competitions ending on that day - I probably do 80 comps a day and do well out of that. At the moment I tend to concentrate on money or pressies for xmas.
    Total 2019: £3972 - Best win this year £3000
    2018 total £4062/2017 total £2260/ 2016 total £2025/ 2015 total £3809.
  • Hi, I only enter ones that are relevant to me or my family/friends, I just would not have time to enter all the others I struggle to keep up as it is lol, I have sold prizes but only when it has been a runner up prize that I dont want/need and can get some money to put towards something for my kids.

Having said that... I did enter the tractor comp and the one for the huge lawnmower even though I have a garden the size of a postage stamp... so in honestly there are the odd ones that are not relevant but could earn me lots of moolah if I won :rotfl: :rotfl:
    2008 - £6,000.00, 2009/10 - Didn't comp
    Back and hoping in 2011!

I have entered comps on Mature Times, despite being in my 30s, and won a pair of tickets to the Harrogate Flower Show, which wasn't really ideal for us, but gave them to an older relative, who was pleased to use them. She gives my children generous gifts for birthdays etc, so it was nice to be able to give her a gift back. I do try and think twice, after my first win was tickets on a date that I couldn't attend, I gave them away to someone on here, but do now check dates.

I don't usually enter comps that ask for a job role, as they are evidently aimed at people in particular jobs. But I wouldn't criticise people who enter everything, if you've got time then it's each individuals choice. And why not sell excess prizes on ebay, like the title says we are here to save money, which in my book includes earning extra like this.
  • Yep, like others, I enter comps I would like, or I know someone else would like. I don't read books (magazines are more my limit! lol!) but I still enter comps for them as my MIL goes through a book every couple of days and loves them.
I check dates for holidays (which is why I'm anal about posting the T&C's!) so I know I can go, enter for tickets to things I or my family would want to go to and most other things.
I do enter other things which I know a charity could benefit from, like some of the horsey stuff, if I won i'd give it to the local horse charity for them to use.
I don't care if other people enter things which they sell or whatever, or tickets that they know they can use at the time of entering but circumstances change and they can't so they offer them, but if you enter for tickets etc.. you know you can't actually use then that's silly.
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
    I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T

I do sometimes find it frustrating not to enter comps that have first prizes I can't use but I would love the 2nd, eg., holiday is 1st prize, wii is 2nd.

Hi kez_s - I enter these ones as I figure I'm probably more likely to win the 2nd prize than the 1st prize, as there is usually only one 1st prize but a few 2nd prizes.

That's how I got my Wii: the 1st prize was a trip to Florida which I would have been hapy to take, but I know my son really wanted the 2nd prize which was a Wii and luckily that's what I won :D

So, I'd say enter them anyway - it worked for me :T

I only enter for prizes that I can use, or my family would use. I've occasionally ended up with 2nd or 3rd prizes which I've given away, but I'm too lazy to eBay ;)
Best win ever: Trip to the Galapagos Islands in 2010
  • I enter the comps that are only relevent to what I would like or what I know members of my family would like. I recently retired so I have plenty of time to look for specific comps. The holiday ones are relevent as I don't have to consider dates when I can go. I enter the children's comps also so my grandchildren would get the prizes if I won. Not having much luck though.:(

See what you're saying, but for me if I ended up winning the holiday to Florida I would be heartbroken not to be able to go, apart from dh none of us have valid passports, plus with dh's job he can't just book leave when he wants it, so I have to consider the expense and the chances of going, sods law I would win first prize and then jinx my chances for the future when we can look at prizes such as Florida, etc., Any holiday prizes I have to really check the t&c's to make sure we are ok to go, etc., a holiday to Butlins or Centre Parc's would be brill though!! (fingers crossed) with two small children that's more ideal at the mo!

  • I once won a baby car seat, despite being a 19 year old male at the time lol...sold it on ebay though :-]
  • I enter most competitions as either I would love it , the family would love it or someone I know would love it..... or it's something worth selling on or donating to a charity.

The ones I don't tend to enter are tickets that I wouldn't want or couldn't attend. Flight only or accomodation only holidays, as couldn't afford the rest of the trip or dvd's etc that I wouldn't watch.

I usually enter every comp ending that day and try to get a few days ahead if I can. Then the dailies if I remember. I work full time so it's just fun whilst putting my feet up watching tv when I get home...... and I have now discovered roboform. What a Godsend!
