Well Edinburghlass... As you are aware Pink is muuuuuch older than me and I remember her making them when I was but a child.
The only reason I can think why she brought shop bought ones to you was because her lovely sister in Scotland told her about the inferior quality of tattie scones in Scotland so she thought her home made ones would be wasted on you.:silenced:

Hi,
Don't know if this is on the right board, but I've just got some potato cakes for my local MrT for 9p a packet so couldn't resist:D.
However the best before date is today... will they be alright to freeze & how long will they keep for if they are?

Hello Emsky - I haven't bought that particular brand BUT regularly buy them on whoopsie and freeze. I'd say use within a month. The defrost very quickly.0

I think potato cakes are always overpriced, but love them, so whenever I see them reduced I buy loads and freeze them. You can stick them in the toaster still frozen, just leave them a bit longer, but I usually put a packet in the fridge when I'm ready to use them. Probably ok for a month but I've left them longer (when they slip to the back of the freezer!) and they've been fine! Enjoy! :j0

Thank you SUESMITH & GillM!" I'l enjoy them more knowing I've still got a secret stash at the back of the freezer :rotfl:"Friendship is certainly the finest balm for the pangs of disappointed love." Jane Austen.
