  • At Lid lI buy organic carrot juice about 69p nice mixed with orange not keen on much else there although the cats do like their game cat food 39p

At Aldi I get their offers on 6 fruit and veg anything from 49p to 69p each and organic bananas
their gourmet ham 99p is lovely and gouda cheese slices £1.09 ( recently gone up 10p)
2 pints semiskimmed milk is 49p
    wrinkle filler £2.99 is good
game dog food and dog treats are good
    creamy yogurts 29p are nice
and most of the biscuits and sweets arent bad
  • I can also highly recommend the Italian Plum tomatoes from Lidl. The tin claims that they have been sun-ripened and they do indeed taste very nice!

I've also started to regularly buy their extra fine frozen beans.
  • What a great thread.
Tomorrow I am off for my first ever shop at Aldi. I have been a faithful Mr T's shopper for about 10 years now but am starting to get really fed up with the quality, price etc.

I currently spend £70 a week on groceries so anything saved will go towards my debts :D

I'll be back to let you know how I get on.....

My likes from Aldi are the Italian ham selection and the cheese slices, Gouda and Emmenthal are our faves. The 49p specials are good this week too, went in today and bought green beans and my mum bought small apples, small potatoes and brocolli all at 49p.
My DS likes the small cartons of apple juice.

I find most of the veg from Lidl very good. I bought an aubergeine two weeks ago and it is still perfectly fine. I must use it soon though.

I also bought some kale which has lasted in the fridge and recently there was an excellent deal on potatoes.

On the other hand, I bought fun sized pears and within a week only one out of 10 was edible. They seemed fine when I bought them though.
    Looking forward to the future.

Aldi has offers on Sundays, too.
And yes, their frozen pizzas are really value for money.
