    Store Aldi
    Best Buys
Fresh fruit and veg - especially Granny Smith Apples (crisp/juicy and stay fresh)
Fresh Gammon steaks - lean and no shrinkage when cooked
Chilled lasagne - Full of lean meat. Will feed family of 4 easily for under £3
Chilled chicken tikka pieces - moist and half the price of Asda/Tesco
Chilled steak and onion pie (family size) pastry to die for and full of meaty filling
    Chorizo sausage
Frozen pork chops (thick/little fat.no shrinkage when defrosted/cooked)
Frozen lamb chops ( as above)
Shropshire Blue cheese (creamy and full of flavour)
Cream crackers - forget Jacobs - these ones take the biscuit!)

There has been an entry saying that Lidl "Baked Beans" are disgusting.

Here is the contents listing for a can I've bought as an experiment:

    Branded "Campolargo"
    Produce of Italy.
    49% Haricot Beans
    27% Tomatoes
    Water
    Sugar
    Etc,

Here in Britain "Baked Beans" are normally USA produced Navy Beans.

Perhaps I should make some home made Cassoulet out of them?

I'm no bean expert, but it looks like navy beans might just be an alternative name for haricot beans:
