  • Just had a look at the nie power shift blurb, if i understand it right, am i paying 12.96p standard rate at all times at the moment, there's no cheap or dear times? i've been telling the missus to stick the washing machine on in the middle of the night for ages and it look like it's been no benefit :(

Yup if you have standard tarrif its the same per unit ALL the time.

It's only cheaper during the night if you have Economy 7

Well if you typed them a letter, printed it then laminated ,it then.....:rotfl:

On a serious note though........ since changing to Powershift my daily usage has dropped from £3.10 to under £2.

Yesterday was only £1.05 but I only did one load of washing so thats probably why its so low.

Even so a drop of £1 per day over an average month is a saving of £30 (just incase you couldn't work that out  )

I know that'll go back up once the increase kicks in on the 1st Oct .But hopefully we'll end up paying around about the same each month as on the old rate.

I'm assuming you pay by Direct debit? £100 p/m sounds really high.We use a LOT but its never more that £60 odd p/m. Even when there were 8 of us in the house last year it was never £100.

I'd recommend getting the keypad meter in anyway. That way you know you're only paying for what you use. Not what the NIE predict you will use.
