My 14 year old daughter doesn't like brandy, do you think vodka would be O.K.dollywops wrote:In the past, when we have had chocolate fondue, we have added brandy to keep the chocolate liquid. I think this would work much better than oil, don't you think.

Ive got a commercial 32" sephra fountain. To get a good flow of chocolate you have to use the highest quality chocolate you can find, with a very high cocoa butter content.
I use a brand of belgian chcocolate called CALLEBAUT and only have to add 100ml of vegetable oil to 10kg of chocolate so it doesnt affect the taste at all.
it also comes in small droplets so its quicker and easier to melt.0 -

I'm not exactly sure how high the content is (haven't got any to check) but I remember comparing Cadbury's chocoalte with tesco Value and the Value one had a higher cocoa content. All credit cards paid off.

You'll get much better value "proper" chocolate from Lidl etc, as I've said! These postings make me even more keen to hear how people actually get on with these things. Come on, all you people who've said you've bought one!Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

The commercial fountains cost up to £4500 and take 10kg of chocolate to fill so no good for the home unless you really like your chocolate lol.
Just to state - I am in no way associated with the following site and I am just using it as an example of the chocolate type best to get -
