    In the past, when we have had chocolate fondue, we have added brandy to keep the chocolate liquid. I think this would work much better than oil, don't you think.

    For chocolate fondue we use chocolate and a little bit of cream - works well enough for me (not that the chocolate stays in the bowl for very long anyway!)
