Regretfully I didn't read the small print either- I needed the ehic cards in a hurry and assumed it was an official website.
Portcreek took my payment immdiately but the cards have not turned up. This was a 7 working days service and it's now 10 working days. Don't think they'll come in time.
It's very difficult to get a response from Portcreek. Am livid! Please tell everyone not to use their service.0 -

When do you go? If you order on the official site they can arrive within 3-4 days.0 -
Hi I also did the google search did not read correctly as I was in a hurry. The card had run out when we were on holiday and had been in our travel wallet for 5 years. So must renew immediately, when it got to payment I thought they might have changed the rules. Was horrified to find out it was a scam. I emailed EHIC and was told to ring the company involved it I was unhappy. Also went on Martin's facebook wall as I was unhappy, emailed the money section of the Daily Mirroe too but so far no reply. Maybe only £10 lost but it is annoying as if I think how many other people are lining the pockets of these people. PS We also have the EHIC+ insurance as they will still cover previous medical conditions and no upper age limit.0

This is not a scam there are companies who do the same thing for passports and the most common now is for getting ESTA into the states simply try typing ESTA in google and loads come up all charging for yet again a free service, If it was a scam you would enter details pay get nothing and have you name address, card details, date of birth and IQ passed onto a mailing list of Nigerian businesses!!!!!!!!!0

Can anyone please help me, I think I have renewed my EHIC cards for myself and my partner but cant actually remember which site I got the telephone number off. An answerphone message asked for our names but did not ask for banking details but the cards have not been received yet. I stupidly thought it was the official EHIC site and of course it may have been but the cards have still arrived. If this was not the official site could I still be asked for payment? TIA
Have since checked my phone bill and think this is the number I rang 08456062030

Hi,
Recently got my EHIC cards and have also been caught out having to pay Portcreek 9.95 Can't believe it, as usually, I'm so careful.
To the person who said he has got his money back from Paypal, I also tried, in vain, to get my money back. Palpal don't want to know. They just said if they get any more complaints within the next month about Portcreek, they will then investigate, but I'm sure they have had loads of complaints. Just washed their hands of the matter.
Have now complained to Trading Standards in Hampshire where Portcreek are based, but if my dealings with my local office in the past are anything to go by, don't hold out much hope of getting anywhere.
Absolutely appalling fraudulent company, should be stopped from trading.0 -
Do not use euhealthcard . org !!
It asks for £9.99 to apply for a EHIC card when the service should be free so do not make the same mistake I did and just call the NHS direct to get a free replacement.0 -
I would say this is a scam, although they refund you if you complain, how many people would complain, they dont want you to complain so they refund you, these people must be making a killing at our expense !
There are a few of these scam businesses running and are probably running from a small room in a house and with not much effort !
In my view these people are tricking you if you don't read properly.
To stop this type of scam you must report it to the (ASA) "Advertising Standards Authority" for Misleading or offensive advertising".0 -

Why is it 'misleading or offensive advertising'?
They are providing a service and charging for it.
They clearly state on their website:IMPORTANT: This website is not connected to or affiliated with the National Health Service, the Department of Health, the NHSBSA or any other official Government body. You can apply independently and free of charge for EHIC by visiting the official website which can be found here. MTS Administration is an unofficial third-party data processor for EHIC applications.
This is just below a big green button that says 'Apply Now'.
I think companies charging to provide something that can be obtained free could be termed sharp practice but I don't see it as 'misleading or offensive advertising'.0
