Good Cashback deals???

And of course lose the cashback...0

junkie - any chance you could link me to the terms which state this, I searched but can't find reference to that.
Cheers0 -
All cashback deals rely on you sticking with what you took out - unless porting is allowed via the dealer at the point of sale. A different number on the bill will definitely mean they won't pay the cashback otherwise.0

That's not my experience. I have seen some companies submit clauses which state this, but others who allow for it.
I have taken a deal in the past with e2 which later resulted in a change of number - all I did was submit a note with later claims and there was no problem.
If there is a clause in P4U's conditions then it is certainly right to bring it to Pena's attention - and the rest of us - otherwise surely it is just a guess..?0 -
Since one Phones4u clause says they can refuse a claim for just about any reason they choose and I'd never risk E2Save's goodwill now for anything, I'll leave it up to others to decide. Personally, I always like to keep the ability to sue on my side. Changing a number without porting at the time through a dealer would make that option ineffective.0

Can you explain how it will help me?
My current Orange contract expires 1st week of Oct and I have requested Orange to change it to PAYG.
Still, It will not let me port to O2 or Vodafone through Phones4u deals, because they don't allow Orange to O2 or Vodafone porting.....0 -

I'm not sure if it makes that much difference as there will still be a problem porting the number to o2/Vodafone whether you're on orange, three, virgin etc m2yd/p4u will be port your number on Vodafone and O2 for website sales0 -

Junkie - I hope you don't think I'm trying to argue with you, but I want to be clear - and I'm sure everyone wants some clarity anyway - but are you saying there is no clause which would prevent you from changing your number?
I certainly can't see one anywhere, so 'the law' would certainly be on our side if they later refused a payout because of this.
You state there is some kind of general clause as an overall get-out... What specifically are you referring to with that statement?0 -
He is referring to the following, in the T&C:Upon receipt of a claim form for a Cheque Back offer, we will verify such application for eligibility and may at our sole discretion refuse an application.0

Cashback deals are something you shouldn't mess with if you don't want to be refused cashback. Contracts with networks go by mobile numbers and that's all the dealer (who has a separate contract with you) sees. If there's a different number on the bill and they weren't part of the porting process you are likely to have your claim denied - whatever E2Save may have done on one occasion in the past (when they operated O2 contracts themselves and were actually a reputable company). People have had problems getting their cashback even when porting through the dealer at the point of sale - especially E2save. I never port and always advise against it; I certainly wouldn't do it AFTER taking out a cashback contract unless I could obtain written (and then in blood if it's E2Save) agreement that it wouldn't affect my claims. But it's your money to risk!0
