Stay a Carphone warehouse/O2 customer or move directly to O2

On one of my mobile plans I am currently with O2 via Carphone wareHouse. My contract has now come to an end and I have the following queries below.
  • Will it benefit me to become a direct O2 customer?
  • If so what will the benefits be?
  • Or am I better off staying with Carphone warehouse AS an 02 customer?
Also what is the difference to being an O2 online customer or going directly into the store?

Suggestions please.

you get lots of texts and/or extra minutes with the online tariffs, but no shop to go to if there is a problem, only an 0870 number. They are run as seperate businesses and so don't deal with each others phones/tariffs/problems

So it seems that the only draw back to being an online customer is the customer care?

Talk to one of there instore sales staff, and see what you think they are quite reasonable, then check out all the online deals, then give O2 a direct ring and let them know what you've been offered, you should get some sort of deal.

Move to direct 02, as next year you will get a cracking dela from them. I get 500xnets and 550texts and nokia e50 for £15 per month, sold the phone for £160 on ebay and my contract is now only £6.11 per month, no network/provider can beat that.
    Kind Regards

CPW O2 also has retention offer.
I was on off peak 1000 and got another 12 month half price and a free nokia 6300. I pay £300 through DD and get auto cash transfer to my bank at 4th and 10th month in total £150. The phone on ebay can be sold for ~170 pounds. So £10 profit and no need to send claim vouchers.

I was also on the 02 off peak 1000 and got a 1000 x-net peak minutes for £5.80 a month, no phone though. Sounds like you got a better deal than me, but the regular tariff is about £70 per month, so its not too bad.
