Hurray my room was confirmed at the Strand Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar - an ultra unusual destination for many. Seeing as though i'm attending a wedding there this is a bonus.
    Accommodation - SUPERIOR 1BDRM SUITE,50-55SQM,1KING OR
2QUEEN BEDS,SEPARATE BATH AND SHOWER,SATELLITE TV,BUTLER SVC. Can't really complain about that. It normally costs £270 a night in this season and with this promotion the total was $46.24 inclluding taxes of $3.84. I guess the money I saved will be lost on tipping the butler lol!
    My time stamp was 0559.
Have you checked out the flyertalk forum on this, its a really long thread.
    when did you get e-mail?

I have been watching and following this thread since the offer began, I too helped the site to crash 1st time around but this time I managed to get a confirmation, not the one I wanted I am sad to say, so, I have a question!

Is it possible to actually sell the reservation on? Or give it away?

I have a reservation at the Hotel Puente Romano in Marbella, Spain for the 26th Nov for 2 nights.

Ebay could be a good way to raise funds for it, if not then perhaps pass it on to someone who could go on those dates?

Congrats to all who got what they wanted as well!

    Tracy

The terms and conditions require you to bring ID. So there's a substantial risk that any buyer would have the reservation cancelled. And, at least in theory, you'd still be liable for the price of your room. If you can't use the reservation e-mail LHW to release it for someone else.
  • has anyone had an email saying no luck yet? i had time stamp 510 for gleneagles still nothin
  • no - idiot is too kind a word for me. in the rush and panic to get my form in quickly i didnt read it properly and ticked the 'yes to any hotel' box. and guess what???? ive got a room!!!!!!! and guess what!!! its not in this country and i dont think i can go!!! i cant believe my luck. argh! i NEVER win anything - ever.

when is it for, if its dec - doubt it will be cheap.
try all the budget airlines/charter flights - easy jet, ryan air, monarch.
also as mentioned previously, probably no a goood idea to sell on as ID is needed, so thats out.
be adventurous and go, you might like it !!
wish i ticked any time anywhere !

I'm sure easyJet or Ryanair go there, but alternatively try travel supermarket.com as they are good for finding cheap flights. You were lucky to get picked though, just unfortunate that it's not where you want to be. If it was me, I would go, it'd be like fate has sent me there and I must now go to see what will happen.

I'm with Andy on this one! Take a leap (or a flight) of faith....

Out of interest, did you specify any hotels? I put down three with "any date" then ticked "Anywhere in Europe" so I'm curious if they ignored your chosen hotels.

I got number 642 (insert tapping foot smiley here).....

the problem i have is that im not working so i really dont have a bean. i chose london and specified dates, but then ticked the 'any hotel' box in my panic. and guess what - my number wasnt that much lower than yours - 80 seconds less. so you may be getting a little treat yourself.
i REALLY would love to go - as it happens ive always wanted to go to lisbon - and am right now beavering away like a maniac trying to find ways and means to do it. fyi - ryanair have got a sale on and i can get 2 x returns from east mids to faro for £40! but then i need to figure out how to get from faro to lisbon and back. damnit i wanna go!!!!!!!

It's about a four hour drive from Faro to Lisbon, quite a way, but some of it is a very pretty drive. And I'm sure you could get some good priced car hire there as it's low season now. Let us know how you get on.
