But you are not planning on living in London on a low income;) and as an immigrant. I adore London too, but I would not enjoy it under the OPs circumstances.:o0 -
I think the world still sees Britain as a place of milk and honey where the pavements are made from gold.
This isnt true - there is bleak poverty, our own young people cant afford to marry or buy a house or even rent one and unemployment is rising. Im afraid some of these problems have been worsened by the huge numbers of immigrants from Europe and further afield who believed they could come here and live a life of luxury provided by the state and booming economy. This is not so.0 -
To answer the concerned, I do have a skill but right now Im busy with rehab and studies for carrer change. After rehab Im going back to work. My wife is also a professional nurse hence she is temporarily assisting me. We are going to work but not this year most certain next year. About my board name I just chose IloveLondon without any attachment it just a name. Im sorry I won't post again if people think that Im coming to milk the UK government, I am not going to use any of the state support funds. I have my own savings and monthly income.0

This is not what you said in your original posting. You gave the impression your sole income would be a fixed pension.
"My wife and I are planning to move to London or areas arround London. I am receiving 5000 USD disability grant every month is this will be enough money to get by while also raising a child."
I see you have edited out the information re your situation now.0 -
Going back to the previous page...
Luton is very up and down - a lot of it's pretty grotty, there are a few nice bits, but the town centre's got nothing to recommend it as far as I can see. Nice airport.
Letchworth mostly nice, very quiet - nearby Hitchin is livlier, with more regular trains into London - it's a pretty safe, low crime area.
Depends what your reason for wanting to be near London was - places that kind of distance out are pretty commutable from, timewise, but train is expensive, expect to pay £25-30 a day for return to London in peak, so what you save on housing costs, you lose on transport cost.
If it's just to do with having friends/family in London or wanting to be near theatres museums etc, it's not so bad, cos you wouldn't be going in peak hours or every day.0 -
It was something to do with my rehab but than again Englan is a developed country I might find rehab centres in other cities. I am busy right now browsing them.0

I'll drink to that... :beer:neverdespairgirl wrote: »I adore London!"I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
You could do worse than Staffordshire, £700 a month will get you a nice 3 bed semi in a good area with good schools - there is a large Eastern European community here, we have long standing links with Poland and as your wife is a nurse we have the University hospital of north Staffs and Keele University/medical training centre.
You will have a far higher quality of life up here, bills in general are cheaper, especially council tax - we pay £1000 a year for a 3 bed semi close to Newcastle under lyme - http://www.newcastle-staffs.gov.uk/generalr.asp?id=SX740D-A77FA9D5&cat=1022
We are central in the UK and close to lots of beautiful places - we moved back here after living all over the UK.
Just an example of property rental prices - http://www.findaproperty.com/displayprop.aspx?edid=00&salerent=1&pid=2413958&agentid=189360 -

But you said you were going to have rehab and career training BEFORE coming to this country.
"I do have a skill but right now Im busy with rehab and studies for carrer change. After rehab Im going back to work."
