I do immigration law, I do know that Bulgaria joined (-:

But it's not quite as simple as that. Yes, Bulgarians can come and live here. But they have to show that they can support themselves without recourse to public funds, and also need permission to work - which the OP's wife might be intending to do.

Hehe - I expect you know about this then! Big oops! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I just took this bit at face value:
'I am receiving 5000 USD disability grant every month is this will be enough money to get by while also raising a child. '
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

why would you want to move to london? its expensive and most people only really want to live there for work reasons and many of them are still reluctant.

£ for £ your quality of life would be higher elsewhere.

a 2nd point is you mention you are paid in dollars, given the exchange changed by 10% an a month you should probably factor in a savings fund

Got to agree - £700 really isn't enough to rent a family home in a 'nice', safe part of London (of course that depends on your definition of nice, but having recently moved from a £700pcm house in London I'd definitely say that that budget is unlikely to get you somewhere in a 'nice' area ...). There are other towns and cities within a sensible travelling distance of London where £700 will get you something really nice and you'll get a much better lifestyle as well. Less worry about crime, better schools, nicer surroundings.

Depends what side of London you need to be on, but if it is West, then try High Wycombe (not the centre, because that is not particularly low crime). Good transport links and relatively cheap rental properties. You can pick up a 2 bed for around £650-£700 pcm around that area.
Anywhere closer to London than that and you're looking at around 800-900 pcm for a nice-ish area.

That's what I have found anyway, looking at properties with decent access to the M40...

BTW, if you don't NEED to be near London, then moving somewhere else would be well worth it.. I saw a rental property for under £700 pcm in Queensbury, West Yorkshire. 5 bedroom detached with gardenm, garage, etc... If you don't have to live near London, then I would strongly recommend not doing ;)
  • Thanks all for much needed enlightment, 40 miles away from London or any nice area outside London that will suit my bills. how is Lutton and Letchworth Garden City.
  • I take your advice I'll go for any good area around England

The only trouble is that it is an expensive commute into London at peak time.

If you want to pick a London borough, the only one that will meet your rental ceiling is Barking & Dagenham but there are safety issues which are mostly associated with deprivation and addiction. For quick and easy access to central London I recommend Redbridge, you may get a 2-bed property for £750-800 pcm if you are lucky.
