    Good afternoon everyone

Late on today. I took the girls to Warwick Castle yesterday, and although we had a lovely time, I'm paying for it today with niggly aches and pains, so have been taking it easy.

DDs have gone out to their friends, so the house is peaceful. Some of the washing is on the line, dough is rising and sheets have been changed. It's a lovely day outside, so I should manage to dry everything.

I need to go through the next asda order properly in a bit, but I am really starting to notice their prices going up. This week, their squeezy mayo has gone up to £1.51 from £1  Must make a start on it though, for delivery Tuesday hopefully.

The girls want sausage, bean and cheese pasties for dinner tonight, so I need to grate some cheese - thankfully I have an attachment on the blender, so I don't have to grate by hand.

My wind up lanterns came today. 1 minute of winding provides 1 hour of light. So, I decide to test them, wind up and wind up, and nothing  Then I found the on switch :rotfl: :o

((((HUGS)))) Pink - DD2 announced she wanted to move to Manchester when she goes to University. I've another 8 years before that happens and I still felt sad, so I can only imagine how you feel.

    Hope you're ok haribo.

Love the tomatoes Money Saving Diva. We've had a fair few this year. Dad's had loads more, so keeps bringing them over as well.

Well, I'm going to have a browse, then might make a chocolate sponge for when the girls get home. Depends if I get sucked into DT :D

Well I've had a productive day. Made two banana breads and just strained off two batches of raspberry vodka ready for bottling.:T

Now it's time to order some card making bits and beads to make jewellery.

    Not a bad old day:D

Also, I just have to share. You know how I am a silly billy about going out by myself with little bear? Well I took him out all by myself in Pickering and we went and watched a steam train and then did a little bit of shopping together! I am so proud of myself! I am now on a stronger dose of happy pills which helps, but I did it!

    Fantastic sybil. Well done :T

  • Wow Kaat, they're very impressive!!!
Happy Birthday Master Catowen too :)

All 3 wardrobes up & looking lovely :) Started at 10 & would have been done by 1 if I hadn't had to stop to go to the shop for milk (which then sprung a leak in my fridge :( ), then my mum popped in, then as she went my mate turned up!!!! However, they are now done.... Off to Dunelm with oldest DD who wants to buy a birthday present for her friend, then I will come back & put all my clothes away again.

    Will check back properly later...

  • Evening all

All the posts on this page have gone massive so I haven't been able to read them properly, don't know why?

Have made two chocolate traybakes today, one for my lovely neighbour for her birthday and one for DS who couldn't bear the thought of someone else getting something he wanted:D .

Have been busy in the garden again cutting back. Have loads of rubbish to go to the tip. have planted out some raddishes down the allotment and have covered them in fleece to hopefully keep any creatures off.

Off toclear up the kitchen and do some ironing, then I intend to veg out and watch Lord of the Rongs with the lovely Viggo Motensen :D .

    Have a good night all.

    Well done!!!!:j :j :T :T

    Pink

I know how you feel! One DD has just gone back to uni and another works in Oxford.

DD(22) has just come home for the weekend so I am looking forward to spoiling her.

Making home made kofta kebabs (thanks Weezl) with HM herby potato wedges.

Have (bought! SHHH!) cheesecake for dessert and some chocolates for them while we all watch X factor later tonight.

I will really miss her when she gets on the train tomorrow night.

Everyone seems to have a cough or a cold so I am shovelling HM elderberry syrup down the throat of anyone who stands still for long enough.;)

    Hugs to everybody.

  • Hi all!

Popped back in to just catch up with everyone.

Thank you all for the comments on the tomatoes... Just wanted to explain that we only grew one variety this year 'Hundreds and thousands' which is a variety of Cherry tomatoes, so they aren't meant to be normal tomato size. They grow in hanging baskets which is really easy!

The ones in my pics were just a few odd looking ones I wanted to share with you, but most of the ones I have been eating for weeks have been normal cherry tomato size and they are reallllly sweet... I can't help but pop a couple into my mouth every time I pass the plant or the bowl inside with ripening ones in!

Penelope - no, we only grew cherry tomatoes this year but have had a great harvest despite the blight!
Kaat - Most of them are just perfect for popping into the mouth every time I pass the bowl!! I have never grown them before and we love cherry toms so I stuck to those as there was no staking involved. I loved your pic though, so many great shapes and the yellow ones look fabbie!
Essexgirl, stressedoutmum, catowen, mummysaver - loving Strictly and the X factor - am always addicted!
Pippa, yes they are really sweet tasting too

Well done Sybil - that is a really big step!
Thanks Jannyannie and redruby, I hoped they would make people smile first thing! :D
sistercas - you will be addicted soon enough!
Orkney - I have been eating them for weeks now, it was just that we had a few deformed ones this batch. And yes they taste gorgeous, really sweet.

My Oh bought two lasagnes home last night from the pub he DJs in so we had free food today for dinner together with home made garlic bread. Delicious!

Hope everyone enjoys their lovely sunny weekend!
