I would love to see what you came up with! - I have looked at the enhance-me website and it looks like way more work goes into the enhancements than simply cut and paste. If you look closely the lighting, blending etc has been adjusted....also their backgrounds are way more original than I have seen on other 'fairytale portrait' sites!

Following your instructions, though am aware they are basic as stated - my attempts look very mediocre compared to the service enhance-me provides for what I think is a very reasonable price. I would rather pay for something that provided me with a high quality finished portrait than waste hours of my own time 'trying' to come up with something that looks like it's just been plonked into a scene!
  • maises mum- your right of course . although following the instructions i can now do this its not quite so easy as that but its a start!! I am now ploughing through some books I got from library to help me do this. Photoshop is a really powerful programme and as such is not simple! While i can now cut and paste people thye still look 'false' as there are all kinds of other things you have to do as well but I am determined to master this now. Anything to stop me studying the health and safety manual I am SUPPOSED to be studying for an exam!!! My grand daughter is due to be born at christmas and by then i am hoping i will be proficient enough to do the fairy baby thing. Will let you all know how I am going!!

Up to now I have only ever touched up my photos and made them slightly better than when i took them, erasing the odd wrinkle and blemish here and there!but this is a whole new ball game

and the enhance me site is great! one of the best I have seen. If i cant get to grips with this then i may end up paying but I want to have a go first. Dont forget that the person that does those has prob been doing it for years and everyone has got to start some where

    For backgrounds try;

There are some that would look lovely with a little fair on it. There are some nice ones in the Illustrations tabd and the Digital Paintings tab. Hope this helps someone. xxx
  • rwaite - those backgrounds are beautiful, i think i'll borrow one for a little project i was doing for my niece for christmas.

    thank you

its pretty simple once you get used to it - i'm willing to give instructions should it be of help to anyone :) xx

    Hi

I have Paintshop Pro but have not got very far with it. Please would it be possible for you to give me (idiot proof) step by step instructions on how to first cut outpart of a photograph and how to then put it onto another one.

eg. I got stuck on this suggestion you posted earlier
"you'll need two or more images to be open, Edit & Copy one image and Paste as New Layer onto the other image (As above i have no knowledge of photoshop so this may make no sense!)"

    Thank you.
  • you're best bet is to open the images you want to use so you have them both open in paintshop pro.

click on one image and using the tool bar at the top click edit and then click copy.

then you click on the second image and go to the toolbar and click edit and then paste as new layer.

This will bring the first image into the second one and by doing this you can blend them both together.

I use the eraser tool (change the size to small when getting close to areas you want to still show) instead of cutting the images as i find it easier to change if i make a mistake.

    does that help? xx
