There is something very fishy going on here!

Called several branches, central system says they have stock, people in store claim they have none. Staff buying them methinks????
    Waddle you do eh?

Just ordered one of these off the web site. Peeved at having to pay £6.99 delivery but have 2% Quidco cashback and 5% "McDonald's employee" discount (thanks to hotukdeals) - searched for free delivery code online but couldn't find one except if I spent over £199. Never mind.

Can't wait for it to arrive. I always wanted one of these :-D

    im thinking the same.

someone should email dixons asking why there is stock but employees are saying that there are none in stock.

some dodgy goings on here? they are probably all on ebay right now!

i had to order one online at £21 delivered which is still a good price. in my local store they said that they had not sold them for ages.

i couldnt be bothered to hustle them to check and just ordered when i got home.

i still havent received my confirmation acceptance e-mail though? so it wouldnt surprise me if the warehouse bloke has cancelled the order and placed it for sale on his ebay account! lol

I've got a confirmation email. I hope it comes as I've been buying on eBay like no-one's business (shedload of PSOne games, anyone?)

Will have a look at Game in town tomorrow to see if there are any bargains. Hope I can remember what I've bid on though :-S

    what a surprise!!!

they must be employing a few ex nigerian ebayers? lol
  • Thanks, Artofdookie, I managed to get one in Currys, Ballymena just after 9am this morning (assistant who checked the computer for me said they only had the one in the display cabinet but then another assistant overheard, disappeared off and came back with one in the box) so have cancelled the one I ordered online from Dixons at the weekend (I did grudge the thought of paying postage). Also, popped into Wyse Buys in Ballymena afterwards and picked up 4 childrens Playstation games for £10 total (just checked amazon and same ones are selling for about £6/7 each).

I managed to get a couple at our local Currys, although husband had just asked at customer services if they had any PSone's he got laughed at so I went and asked some-one else to check the product code (thankfully I remembered from looking on line) they found they had three in stock one of which was reserved. So, don't take no for an answer and take the code 928985 with you.

Similar thing happened to me at Aintree store. I rang beforehand and was told that I needed to look at retro game specialists if I wanted something 'as old as a ps one'. Thanks to an earlier post, I had the product code and asked the girl to check the stock. She then informed me that they has two in stock. So the moral is to make sure that you give them the code as they don't always know what they're talking about.
