Anything with a monkey on works as well (his nickname is monkey boy!!)
I hope your OH and my OH aren't the same OH - mine is also nicknamed monkeyboy, and has a princely collection of monkey related items.
Mine always gets a mix of surreal and occasionally useful things: this year he's getting -
a set of antique insurance papers (for a pig)
Creepshow on DVD
a hoverdisc
a hologram chamber
a multitool pen
a NASA poster (the title at the top is Exploring Uranus :rotfl: )
a Tshirt
an echobot
an Elvis duck
aftershave
pirate stickynotes
underpants with Swarovski crystals on them :rotfl:
a couple of books
What I'm proud of is that I spent just under £50 on him.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Blokes are hard to buy for I think, much more so than women!
This year I have got my OH:
365 facts in a jar - found facts on pc, pasted into word, printed off and stuck in a jar). This is a silly pressie for his desk at work
Brain Trainer Desk Calendar (ordered from Play.com for £5)
A talking picture frame - got for £6ish from grabitnow. Going to put a pic of the kiddies in it
T-shirt from play.com sale for a fiver
Tiger Woods wii golf game (2008 - been reduced as just released 2009)
A terramundi jar for a rainy day saving fund
Bought a plain canvas and going to print kiddies handprints on it
Ordered the new JK Rowling book from play.com
Got a few silly things to stick in a stocking with some chocolate coins. Still to buy are the stocking and coins. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

What's an echobot? Am I being thick...? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
I found the echobot in the Firebox half price event earlier in the year. It's a motion sensitive beastie, you record something on it, and then whenever the sensor is triggered it says whatever you want it to.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I always seem to get him dvds and they are just boring to wrap and open and not that exciting so last year I did him a movie hamper with one dvd and added all his fave nibbles like pringles, a couple of bottles of beer and some minstrels and then with his transformers dvd I made a transformer dvd I found all things transformer related(cheap bargains on ebay mostly), I added transformer car freshners, transformer chocolates, transformer bubble bath, etc; made it a bit more fun for me and he liked it all. It helped bulk out his presents a bit too.You can stand there and agonize........

Ebay is my friend.
I was devastated when the vintage wooden leg I wanted to buy him went beyond my budget - it didn't occur to me that anyone else would want it but there was a bidding frenzy!
I also lost out on a smallpox vaccine tube dated to his birthday, only in 1939.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

For my other half for Christmas i found a DKNY watch a couple of months ago on Amazon. They were really really reduced. It was a bargain. It's worth a look if you're thinking of buying a watch. xxx0

I got this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/DKNY-NY1313-Digital-Rubber-Detail/dp/B000NJF3CI/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&s=watch&qid=1221766497&sr=1-22
A bargain compared to what it would have been. xxx0
