Ebay and GHD Straighteners

Cute_'n'_Quirky
Am asking this on behalf of a friend - someone without permanent internet access
She bought some GHD Straighteners for £80 plus p&p and paid by Debit Card via Paypal.
A day later Ebay pulled the entire listing of a multiple item listing.
Paypal say that there is no way that she can get her money back.
Is this correct?

Why did paypal say she cant get her money back?
If she funded the paypal payment by credit card, she can get a chargeback. No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Might be that the seller was fraudulent and they cant get the funds from the seller, but paypal should still cover this by their buyers protection. Tell your friend to check that the listing qualified for buyer protection and get to mention this to paypal then they have to do something about it.No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

That's the problem - Ebay have removed the whole listing - it simply isn't there any more! Even going via her paypal account it shows nothing.
That's the first thing I told her to do. She is only 18 and new to Ebay really.
I said she should be covered, paypal said she isn't and told her to go to the police.
The police said that they can't do anything until paypal have concluded their investigations.
If paypal have removed the listing the Seller would not have had time to collect the funds anyway - it was removed a matter of 18 hours after she paid for the straighteners.
The bank don't want to know as it was not a cc0 -
So even though she has made a payment it is not even in her transactions? Thats very odd.
I would call ebay and find out what is going on, has she written the item number down or got it in an email?
She should definitely keep on at ebay/paypal as she should be entitled to some if not all the money back.No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

The details are in her paypal account.
However, when you click on the ebay item number and it usually takes you to the listing of the item it simply brings up a message that ebay have removed the listing - so we can no longer view the whole listing.0 -
has she actually opened a full claim for item not received or has she just asked if she is covered?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
