Cheap MOTs: Nottingham, Derby and East Midlands

Just had an MOT done at Mr Clutch in Nottingham.

£21.

Passed with one advisory.

I was initially concerned at the cheap price possibly meaning they are more inclined to find or invent something wrong which may otherwise pass elsewhere. So to avoid this I let them know before they started that if anything was wrong I would sort it myself thus taking away any incentive for unnecessarily failing the car. The reception chap was fine about that and polite.

Painless experience really, all done and dusted in 45 minutes.

I guess the moral of this thread is to make sure your car is prepared for the MOT to the best of your ability and make it clear any work required will be done independently of the MOT testing garage.

Just had mot done at Kwik Fit Daybrook (Mansfield Road, Nottingham) and it passed first time! My car is pretty worn, 51 plate and had advisories including tyres but passed. And over heard another customer pass on a old car except for a number plate light and he asked for a new spare tyre and they said they would put an old front one on insted for him.

Definietly will be going back! Recommended!
