Hi All,
Anyone got any recommendations for a cheap & reliable MOT service - a bit further North. I'm looking for any garages in the Strathspey/Inverness/Elgin area? Any ideas? Many thanks & regards, H.0 -
Hi all, Does nayone have a recommendation for a good MOT centre in Stirling or do we have a council MOT centre? Thanks0

Re: initial blog about no Council MOTin Inverclyde... the council MOT centre is within the main refuse centre at Pottery Street in Greenock.
never tried using it for MOT's as yet but will not be ruling it out!0 -
There's two Council testing centres in Dunfermline, Fife - one at Elgin Street and one at Carnock Road, Milesmark.
Phone the Fife Council Switchboard 08451 555 555 then dial the appropriate extension:
Elgin Street - 493580
Milesmark - 4936800 -
Just had my car MOT'd at Strathclyde Tyre Services in Johnstone Renfrewshire for £27.43. They have Depots in Kilmarnock and Coatbridge too. Have used them 2 cars for 4 years now and have been well pleased.0

Car required a pair of front suspension bush’s as a result of an MOT failure. Farmer Autocare sourced replacement parts and offered a time limited and discounted quotation of £1000 which was reluctantly agreed to. Full payment was required in advance. While the repair was being completed, I found the necessary replacement part on line for £38.50 each. On further investigation, this repair should have cost in the region of £200. The subsequent complaint was dismissed and dealt with unsympathetically. I would urge anyone using the services of this garage to get quotations elsewhere and avoid paying for anything in advance.0

Hi,
Does anyone know whether the MOT Centre at 73 Hawthorn Street, Glasgow still does tests on private vehicles?
Everything on the Glasgow Council website indicates this is a Taxi testing centre only.0 -
mmmm, after seeing Martin's Money Tips email where it says "Cut MOT costs by £100's" I thought I'd come a check out where the Edinburgh one was and to my disappointment it was the same one I phoned last year to inquire about an MOT.
I was told adamantly over the phone that this scheme no longer ran and was for council vehicles only. I tried to dig a bit more, but he was having none of it.
Could someone let me know if I've been taken for a mug? I think I'll phone again to find out, but I wanted to check if anyone has recently been and had their car MOT'd?
Many thanks. I guess I could also phone Edinburgh City Council too to find out?

Just discovered the East Ayrshire council MOT centre is in Hurlford, turn left just before the church.0
