Sad fact is, he's right. Even if he worked 5 days a week at the farm AND 5 evenings in the call center, he'd still be getting £2.5k less a year than just the 37 hours in the other job. Just working 5 days at the farm wouldn't be enough as they are only 6 hour shifts, but if he was willing to do the farm AND the call centre, we could get by okay.

Needing to save for a house and knowing if we do get a house there will be a wedding in there before we buy it as well, very scary.

Applied to AQA last night, seems everyone is getting turned down, which makes me sad as I'd love to get in for a few extra £ a week, plus I stayed up till 1am doing the application!

Well done on the *nearly finished* dissertation Flower! Go you!The budget sounds terrible as always, it is never good news is it?!?! I hope that the money promised to new building comes the way of my company, I also hope there are some smart cookies on the ball running to the councils to win the contracts! It'll mean I keep my job!

    :jWell done Flower!!

I don't take much notice of the budget, as a MSE I feel I should but it makes my noggin hurt sometimes.

Aww, I just read this! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1172576/Wartime-sweetheart-rekindles-romance-RAF-gunner-posting-lonely-hearts-plea-64-years-split.html so cute!

Now off to find the budget put into simple terms for me!

I know, likelyhood is NIMs car might pack up shortly, but we still don't want to be spending the £7k or whatever a new car would cost, so the £2k reduction is irrelevant really!

    Hello everyone-
Have lurked here for a while. have finally got the guts up to say hi!

i got married about a year and a half ago and it cost £2k. it was a total bargain and i learned a lot about cutting costs. its nice not to spank a massive amount on a wedding and then not have a big fat debt as a "welcome to your married life" present!

anyway, just thought i'd say hi. you seem like a cool bunch and dinah, your debt busting is inspirational!

Hmm, but if I only wanted a little C2 or something and can save up £1k by then, that's a good chunk off. I just don't know.

That's a lovely story Cinny, gave me lump in my throat! Loved her comments at the end - "He had no hair and a moustache ... that soon came off!" haha!

It was the ''I've got the keys,' said Frank. 'I won't let her go.'' bit that got me Tete.

Hey Samaki, pull up a chair! 2k for your wedding is pretty inspirational in itself!
