Hello everyone-
Have lurked here for a while. have finally got the guts up to say hi!
Why does this seem to be a running theme - exactly how scary are we?!
Thanks for your compliments, I'm looking forward to it all being over in a couple of days now to be honest, been a tough year. Not that I think saving for the house will be any easier! Nearly time for a new thread too girlies, hope we don't loose anyone in the move.
Need to remember to get NIM to open an egg savings account this evening. And I need to send that £1 cheque to open the tesco saver. The rent to mum and dad is stopping from now until July. Not that they don't want it - simply that they want us to hold on to it to use it as spending money on their holiday - so we figured its better in a bank account earning us a little bit of interest!
How did you get married on £2k?!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

How much is a little C2 thingy Tete? If we could get a car on £4000 after the £2000 reduction it might be worth doing, cos NIMs is old and a little runner would last us years, until we need something bigger for kids or animals or something!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Woooo Flower - WELL DONE! You're so close now!
Here's the nicest farm I found - http://www.huntstileorganicfarm.co.uk/
It looks ace but I think we would be a bit over on numbers, as I have quite a big family. Can't really afford to hire the marquee if you have to add that on to the other price! Would choose the barbecue option as that would be so ace.
Birdie, you're plan sounds great with the restaurant - tasty food!
Hi Samaki
Agree with you on the budget Dinah - although glad the stamp duty holiday has been extended. The 'affordable housing' options in London are rubbish. The part buy part own schemes that we would love to do are really overvalued. Like £200,000 for a 1 bed flat, when a redeveloped non new build would be ont he market for around £150,000.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -

I'll pack my things up!
Lara I think I might have to get married there myself! So pretty, I think it was the picture of all the cakes and scones that sold me really! I've only been on a diet 2 days and I want cake, lots of cake, and some malt biscuits too.
I haven't done a scrap of work today, feeling guilty but I've looked and there is actually nothing!
ETA: Just done a globaltestmarket survey that I should get 40 points for, will be able to get my payout tomorrow!0 -
Oh wow Lara! A Wedding Tractor!!!
Citroen C2 Dinah - more expensive than I thought after looking them up :S I thought only about £5000. Don't know whether the scrappage thing will be for new and nearly-new ... ?

Love the farm Lara. Now having Dinah's dream career change of the day of having a big farmhouse and gardens and doing weddings in the gardens on a weekend. I'd get to cook and be around happy people for a living!
I think part-buy part-rent artificially ramps the market and does you no favours in the long run anyway, but if they are that expensive who is buying them?!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

If it is for nearly new then I think we'll be more likely to take advantage of it, although apparently some new cars are going for less than used as you can bargain so much off them!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Aww, that story is so cute Cinny, little old people canoodling!
Hi Samaki, can't believe you got married so cheaply, well done you! Will have to pick your brains for MSE ideas! And most importantly, what was your dress like? We likey the dresses on here!
Will have to read up on the budget and this car scheme thingy later, office is actually busy this afternoon, I'm not used to doing work!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Oooh, just had a sneaky look at that farm Lara, it looks fab for a wedding! If it wasn't so far away I'd be tempted to book it myself! Just before Christmas last year my Mum got a new C1 for less than it would cost for a used one, the guy was so desperate for the sale he knocked loads off! I'm tempted to get one myself as it is so cheap to tax and run, I just need the money to buy it... I'll add it to the list!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
