    Morning everyone!

Congrats on being Post 4000 Flower!! Was it you who's just taken up running? Can I ask how you started off, just doing a little and a bit more each day? I fear I'll not even be able to get to the end of the street the first time, but my leisure centre's closing for refurb around the time I finish my Channel Challenge so I need something else to stop me getting fat (and I'm sort of thinking of trying to run the race for life (3 miles) in the summer).

ROTE, you say 'leaking spinal fluid' so casually! It sounds horrendous! Hope she gets better soon!

Congrats on the wage rise Cinny! That's quite a good percentage isn't it? Shame we always have to factor in the tax though!

It's 'that time of the month' where all my money is flying about in the ether and not in my bank accounts, won't settle down til about the 4th I don't think. And how long do Quidco payments take?? I had an email a few days ago now to say it had been paid but it still hasn't appeared! Also I think Dooyoo have stopped submitting my suggestions as I have three which have been available for a while that I haven't written yet, so must do those I guess. Doing badly on my dooyoo challenge.

One of my friends has just posted on facebook to say she's going to Marrakech tomorrow so what with her and Dinah I'm hankering after a bit of sun... :( Anyway, busy day for me so I'll stop!

    Morning!

Last night OH and I had another fall out about his tidying, he started on my craft desk last night! Grrrr... To get him back I used all the milk this morning so he couldn't have cereal for breakfast (he should have bought more yesterday instead of playing xbox all day!) and I took all the leftovers from last night to have for lunch so he'll have to make something else for his lunch. Mwahahaha.

I was looking at my pay slip for some reason the other day and I noticed that my 'taxable pay' is my old wage- about £2k more than I'm on now! I wonder if I've been paying too much tax since last August? I'll have to get that checked out! I could really do with a tax rebate!

I know, leaking spinal fluid would scare the crap out of me! Hope she heals quickly.

Is the wage rise because you turn 18 Cinny?

I have at least 15 uncompleted Dooyoo suggestions Tete, it just seems some categories take longer to be approved than others.

Payday tomorrow, very exciting. Can't remember if I have come to the end of the month with £200 or £100ish, will have to look tomorrow and rearrange the monies. Also have the usual £140 to move over, plus the £200 to grandad. Have decided that what I'm going to do is pay the £250 into each of the regular savers each month first, then any remaining is going into a saver, just until there is £1500 in there, then I will pay off my overdraft in one fell swoop. Ofc if (and its looking like a big if at this stage) we get approved for the First Direct account then the first £500 a month will go into the two ISAs, and it will take longer to pay off the OD.

I need to write a letter to A & L this week asking for compensation, since their incompetance has decimated my credit rating, and they have admitted as much. If not I will take the case to the financial ombudsman.

At lunchtime today I need to go to HSBC to ask if I have any remaining ISA space left (interest added on has confused me!) and to Barclays to politely enquire why I have got absolutely no details through about an account I opened 12 days ago, and have to fund monthly.

11%, not that I worked it out or anything :D
Yep, it's because I turn 18 Dinah. A few more pence towards my bike.

Tete - Good luck with the race for life if you enter it. I was thinking of doing it next year, give me lots of time to get fit. If you do it, I'll give afew pennies to sponsor you, it's for a good cause afterall!

Birdie - Sounds just like what I would do! Sorry to hear you're having a few problems though, I'm sure it'll all settle down.

Doing more money management in my head. My wages go up about £24 per month this month, going to add this £24 to the £140 on payday and put it straight into the saver so that I don't notice it but the saver will take a little boost. Won't happen until May though. In April we get the last of our backpay from 2008, so that £30ish will go straight in the saver too.

I also have a new plan, whenever any money comes out the account, any remaining pennies (ie If I spent £7.45 on my card, the remaining pennies will be 55p) will go into a saver account. If I do this every day I would estimate this would be another £20 or so a month without even really noticing it.

My head goes all money crazy around payday!

Money crazy indeed! That's what I do with my savings account - but on the days I don't spend anything, say I have £43 in my bank account I'll round it down to £40. You're right though, it does boost your savings with money you don't really miss!

Just scribbling up plans for money too, need £50 out on friday for board and my holiday pot, I think £10 will do me for the week if I'm strict. I hope!

Oooh, my head is spinning with all of this money talk! It all sounds good though. I like the idea of the extra pennies being siphoned off into savings, I'd be useless at keeping up with that!

The problems aren't really that bad, we pretty much left each other alone last night but had a little cuddle in bed so it could have been much worse! And he did text me once I got to work to say 'love you x' which in our language means 'all is forgiven'! He said he feels like he's always getting told off but it's the other way around! We're both feeling hard done by and can both sulk something rotten, we're the babies of our families so we're used to getting our own way! It will take some time for him to get used to not having his every wish granted, I'm the one who is currently allowing him the upper hand and when I stand up for myself he can't deal with it!

Aw, glad all's well Birdie. Money talk makes my head spin a bit too! The only thing I have to add to it is that this is my final month of saving for my ISA, after the 6th that'll be £2000 to go in there, then I start saving towards possibly needing a new car when I have my MOT in Aug - if I don't need a new car, then whatever I've saved will go into the ISA as well (I'll aim at £1600 I think so that if I don't need a car then the ISA will be filled up). Once that £2k goes out though it'll leave me with only about £50 in my 'accessible' savings, which is a bit scary!

If there ever were an emergency though Tete, you can get it out the ISA, its just better not to. It' not like it's being locked away never to be seen again.
