Well, I was discussing it yesterday with friends (in the pub naturally) and they were trying to convince me to give up tea, due to the look of pure horror on my face at the thought of it. So I thought wine was a happy(ish) medium :) Hard, but not stupid!

LOL! Why set yourself up for failure?!

 WHAT?! It's a Holy Catholic Country too!

St Patrick is our patron saint, Drove all the snakes out of Ireland. So we have got to celebrate his feast day. As to birthdays this is the first I heard of it. This being ill thing is getting really old really fast, I couldnt go to work last night over the coughing. Barely made it out to help herself with the MS last night and to top it all off I got no pancakes last night :mad::mad:

Its not been a good few days for me. Hows everyone else doing?
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

Good luck Birdie! If you can't make space I'd move all your stuff into the spare room and claim it as your own. For all your books and craft bits, of course

NIM - You could always have a belated pancake day when you're feeling better?

No work to do today, so instead I've bought in 2 post it notes filled with vintage websites to surf :D

    *edit*
Have to post this link for Birdie!

Can't believe you have never heard the birthday/lent thing! I had 3 friends with the same birthday and they all used to chomp stuff in my face when it was their birthdays!

How are you settling into the UK? Much the same as Ireland, isn't it! Have you had a chance to go out for a drink with any of the people from work yet? One thing to bear in mind (when trying to settle into a different country) is to try and make your own friends so you don't have to rely on your OH for a social life. It makes things less stressful. Of course it is good to have mutual friends but other hobbies and friends/aquaintances are good too!

  • Ooh I like that dress Cinny :) Although it does remind me a bit of fish scales I have to say! I guess Birdie'll be too busy for Dress of the Day today. Hope it all goes well for you!

  • Just thought I'd finally say Hi having stalked this thread since finding it a few weeks ago!

I have found your chats very interesting to say the least I just love how they have evolved into various subjects, not diminishing your most impressive debt busting Dinah!

I almost posted when Cinny was talking about her Trichotillomania because I too do that & I never even knew it was a recognised disorder! I've done it since being very young & have often pull out so many I get gaps that I cover with miracle mascaras! OH is constantly yelling 'STOP' when he sees me coz I don't even realise half the time. Tired & stressed makes it worse.

It was you again though Cinny who prompted me to finally stop being a voyeur! I LOVE vintage clothes so wondered if you would share your post-it notes of websites by any small chance I am going on hols in 2 weeks & desperately searching for a perfect dress!:T

Would just liketo say how much I love this thread & how nice you all are, gotta agree with Dinah when I've observed some of the people on here turn savage:rotfl:
  • Hi Coco, welcome! :hello: I second your request for the websites...Cinny!! Where you off to on hols?
