I have to remind myself of your age too Cinny! You're a whole 10 years younger than me! When do you turn 18?

So much for my MSE abstitnence today eh? Did a little stinit of work this morning so now a feel I need a break! :D

26th of March, I don't think I want to turn 18, I'll be like a proper little adult then! On the bright side, I'll be able to buy my own pimms and lemonade this summer.

I think you did well! I constantly have MSE up in the background somewhere at work. With a cover up page on another tab, oh god that sounds much worse written down.

Urgh no don't give our your details on IE - very hackable programme!

Abbey told me to us IE not firefox, or something along those lines. I'll have to double check!

Back to making summer plans, I'm determined to have a weekend at least in Kent!
  • Didn't know that about https, will look out for it in future. I use firefox at home but IE at work... I wonder if that's where I got hacked? I'd always assumed the work server would be far more secure than mine..?

Depends on your IT department, I know for a fact my work server is very badly protected. I know this because I ahem, tested it, a few years back. Best to leave it at that. All our computers had a virus for the last two weeks that has just hopped from one computer to another, nasty zombie thing it was too, still isn't 100% fixed.

Ask any programmer Cinny and they will tell you how badly designed IE is, Firefox is a much more secure and stable programme, but as it doesn't come from the giners of Bill Gates is sadly under marketed and underused - less than 1 in 10 dormant viruses and key recogniser software applications can lodge in IE can use FF. I absolutely will not use IE when doing anything involving a password, as its too easily traced and seen.

Oh gosh, what's happened to this thread? Politics and computers! My brain hurts!

Ooooh, Cinny, we'll have to have a party for you when it's your birthday! I can't believe I'm 6 years older than you! It's so wierd getting older, I keep thinking that the millennium was a couple of years ago and I've just begun my twenties! I'm 24 in May! My OH is 25 and is in even greater denial than I am!

I use firefox for everything else, should be okay using it for the banking aswell shouldn't I? Slowly getting a list of Banks and their ISA details ATM.

I don't want to hint but I like victoria sponges, lime jelly, cloudy lemonade and pineapple cheese hedgehogs and bunting *ahem ahem* I forget I'm only 17 most of the time, although my Ma constantly says 'You shouldn't be saving at 17!' then she takes me to Meadowhall and shows me pretty dresses and such..

I don't mind being my age as I've always had quite an old head and couldn't wait to get old enough to do 'grown-up things' like buy a property and get engaged (!!!) but I do miss being 17. All the exciting birthdays were there to look forward to, there wasn't the pressure of being a real adult and I was at college having the time of my life. I miss school! I didn't enjoy the lessons so much but I loved free periods; we used to play uno, rummy and top trumps in the common room when there wasn't a table football championship going on! No wonder I got rubbish marks on my A Level coursework!:rotfl:

My brother has been saving since he was about 8, he's 18 now and he's a very good saver, I absolutely think you should be saving at 17, once you get into a spend not save pattern it is almost impossible to change that mindset that you 'deserve' treats, and then when you need something bigger such as a car or a house deposit, you have lots of pretty dresses the bank manager won't hear of using as collateral!

You shall have it all! Virtual parties are very easy to throw! :rotfl:

My Mum is my downfall too, she's like the little devil sitting on my shoulder saying, 'But you need a new dress! It doesn't matter if you've got 4 still with the tags on, none are as pretty as this one! And how about shoes...'
