.... okay I can't lie, not so hard earned pennies in some respects. Work is a walk in the park! But slice the pie and ebay? I fight for every single one of those pennies!

My total is annoying me - I really want it under 8k! £310 to go until I'm halfway to debt free. Still have nearly £800 of this months wages left though. Will need a little this weekend to go to York, and I'm going to the Living North Christmas Fair next weekend so will get a few little treats, but fingers crossed will still come through the month with a healthy remainder to knock off the debt.

Reminder to me: I need to call o2 about the bills!

ARGH! Sorry, just needed a scream.

Council Tax are on at me to pay £671 within 7 days or I will go to court. I moved out of that property in August and when I did I was informed I was competely up to date on bills, in fact was entitled to half a months payment back! I call up and they tell me that yes, they are aware I moved out, but they have had no confrimation from my partner (ie the ex) that he did! So why are they sending bills in my name only to my old address?!?!? Nothing was achieved by talking to them, except I want to murder someone. How can they be so incompetant?!

    Yey congrats!

I'm in such a huff with council tax I think I might go home early. Can finish at 3.30 on Fridays. Already about 4 hours up on flexi time for the week. Go home, relax, as if I get one difficult person call me this afternoon I think that I might loose my rag entirely!

I wont bore you with the details of the hassle i have had with the council trying to sort out our council tax, but i certainly know how you feel!
Took them 4 months to send me a bill (that was with me ringing them at least once a week) then somehow its my fault that we cant make any payments.
Some people stupidity surprises me sometimes!

I wish I could help! I'm completely clueless on things like this. You shouldn't have to pay that money at all it's outrageous! Have you got proof of being up to date on council tax when you moved out, was it in a letter? I don't know if that would helpful if you showed them it.

You should go home, have a cup of tea and relax! Ring up your other half and a good old rant to him. :grouphug: I'd leave you that smilie without comment but it looks like anything but a group hug. quite dodgy really!

I an give them bank statements from every month showing the money going out of the account to theirs. I always pay online and get an email receipt, but I had my account broken into when someone hacked into my paypal in about may and they deleted everything. But they are happy that I am up to date until the end of August, what they are not happy with is I didn't pay for September, or October, or now I'm late on november (won't be paying that either since I moved out August 8th!). What warped logic is it that they threaten to take me and only me to court because they are not sure if my ex still lives in the house?! i asked her to send me an email confirming that I would not be taken to court and was told 'oh i can't, im just call centre'.

On the plus side, what I took as really bad news earlier from Peb actually might be exactly what we needed to know. OH is quite excited about this route, although apparently the girl on the end of the phone of the place that does the qualifications was useless and barely spoke English.
