They appreciate the gesture if it goes wrong, and they enjoy it if it goes right. If they're funny about it, stuff them, you tried and you make their son happy. Just been reading that Sharm has an incredably cheap gold and silver quarter people should visit, I have to question how much cheaper silver can get? My cross and chain that I wear every day is silver, and came from the jewellers in town and cost under £8 2 years ago, surely it doesn't get much cheaper?! Don't like gold anyway

I've sent cupcakes over before and I *think* they liked them. I just get panic over anything, if they don't like them they're coming home with me! Making my sugar filled cupcakes and those brownies.
As for the Silver, I don't wear jewellery so never paid much attention! Don't like the feel of it, I can only just handle coins at the best of time, I told OH if he ever proposes to me with a proper ring I'll kick him in the knees.0 -
I seem to remember my parents coming back from Egypt with loads of gold and silver, it was super cheap! What gets me is that it is sold by weight so you can buy a charm for a necklace with beautiful filigree detail that looks like it took ages to do and because it weighs so little it is cheap! Check out the diamonds too
