No you didn't. Don't worry about it. I was always banging on about getting married to my OH and one day he said 'why don't we look at some rings' and I freaked out and walked away in the other direction. It's just because you weren't expecting it! Don't worry he will ask you again. You have some time until you see him again so think about what you would like, would you want to be somewhere special or does it matter (i.e it could be while watching Corrie!!!). Some people do, some people don't, but if you want it in a special place/time drop heavy hints. He will get the message!!!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

when me and OH went abroad last year, it was my first time out of the country or on a plan or anything and he propsed the night before we came back on a beach and it was wonderful. he didnt have a ring on him but he still got down on one knee and we came back and bought one i loved together. yes its romantic to have the ring during the proposal. but its also a romantic idea that everything is wonderful, you get engaged, marry in a castle and get on a white horse and live happily ever after!
dont worry though, he loves you alot and im sure he will propose properly, the way you want soon! he was probably testing the water to see if you want to get engaged! plus if you had said yes and then he thought oh i only mentioned it to get an idea of how to do it properly, he might feel bad he didnt get to do it the way you wanted?
hope that makes sense!!! xxx0 -
He seemed crushed when I stopped him, but I just didn't believe it was real! None of the groundwork was there so my mind just wrote it off as him being confused and he would regret it or we would have to keep it a secret until it was 'real'. His parents aren't the biggest fans of mine, I can't understand his dads accent so I'm silent around him, so he thinks I'm boring, and his mum I just get nervous around, no mum likes serious girlfriends, they're the other 'other woman'. That and she seems to think I'm going to trap him into having babies right this minuite.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Is it wrong of me to be hoping for reasons why his plane can't go? Only ones where no one is hurt obviously. So far I have
1) freak hail
2) fire at airport
3) ryanair forgot to transfer the money and cant buy any fuel for the plane
4) pilots come down with food poisioning
5) airport staff hold an impromptue strike
6) OH falls and breaks his arm, needs to go to hospital
Okay, OH got hurt in that last one, but it's a last resort!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Lol you'd think, but he's already at the airport. I'm feeling the need for a larger glass of wine than usual tonight.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

hi, guess OH is back in Ireland now, boy do i remember the saying goodbye's bit, even though my OH was only an hour and half away it killed me everytime i had to drive him to the station. Just believe me when i say it won't be forever, and good luck for a proposal which seems real. Even though i knew my proposal was coming up, he'd asked my dad and everything i still felt giddy and excited.0

Yup, he's gone. Not that he'll actually get home until midnight-ish. My brothers friend who rents a room off my parents came back from visiting his parents in Dubai today, and it's taken him less time to get here than it's taken OH to get to Limerick! I believe you that it won't always be this way, I just wish that it would hurry up!
I've discovered distraction is key, I spent tonight listing games and dvds on amazon, and a few books on green metropolis. And I managed to get through with a minimum of tears. Struggled when I came home tonight though, I called out and he wasn't there to answer, and I didn't get my hello kiss. Didn't hit the chocolate suprisingly, or the wine for that matter. My cat is happy though as she gets her side of the bed back from OH! She had adopted a technique of sleeping on his chest/across the top of his head but she seems very content to have my undivided attention again.
Even managed to get some prices on mobiles to recycle as I found an old one in one of my ebay boxes. Mobyko was the best as while lots of places offered £7 for it, they offered the highest ammount if it doesn't work!
I never really saw the marriage/engagement thing happening for me, and now that it might, I don't want anything to be only okay. Which is daft because I don't beleive a wedding makes a marriage, it's just nice foreplay.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
