How do I transfer music from Creative Zen to my new IPOD?

Hi there, I have just purchased a IPod Nano (3G) and would like to transfer the playlists I have on my old Creative Zen MP3, however am finding it very difficult to do so.
The old MP3 files are files as .zpl, is this why I cannot transfer them via itunes.
How do I change them to ipod compatible.
I have had no trouble transferring music I had saved on my computer, but can not seem to move music from Creative to the Ipod.
I really don't want to lose the playlists I have on my old MP3, please help....
I am not massively switched on when it comes to this sort of thing but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :-)

The ipod uses AAC format so all the songs would need to be converted. There is probably a converter on the internet that would do this. After a google, I found this site: http://zpl-convert.qarchive.org/I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

Not true!Audio formats supported: AAC (16 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Store), MP3 (16 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3 and 4), Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV
Use an alternative to itunes e.g. YamiPod here

Not true!
It doesn't support .zpl files though, so the songs would still need to be converted?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

If they are MP3 files, they may simply need renaming and not converting. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

No! As per espresso's advice.
The iPod can play AAC tracks, along with other formats, but it's main format, like most music players is MP3.
I've seen several posts recently saying the iPod only plays AAC! Simply not true.
ZPL is a playlist file, which could just be the listings of tracks, rather than the actual music on your Zen, which I suspect is MP3 like with most other players. If it is also the MP3 files, they just need renaming to .mp3
You won't be able to move your playlists, but you will be able to move all your MP3 music files to the iPod - which is a superb device.0
