How do I find out my line speed? I'm also with Tiscali!

I've just signed up with F2S,which is a couple of quid a month more,but I don't mind providing they give me the service,and the best bit is,it's a monthly contract,so if they get slack,they get the boot as well.

I signed up with them because they have had some good write up's,are reasonably priced,their CS seems to be good, (although a little restricted on the times they are open,) you appear to speak to someone in ENGLAND,not India,are now owned by Pipex,who have also had good reviews in the past,and if your migrating,there's no charge.

You need to do a speed test at various times of the day.

Log the results on Tosscalis broadband forum page, (Copy and paste the link to your speed test result.) and they'll do their utmost to ignore you.Only kidding.

You'll need to post it,and complain like hell at the same time,and they'll then reply with, 'We'll get an engineer to contact you,' which does happen,eventually,but by then,your usually so peed off,you want to get rid of them.

The engineer will contact you,but even after that,and you still speed test,eventually,it will be back to square 1.

Read their broadband forum before you start,just to get an idea,and see everyone else complaining,and then jump in with your 2p worth.

!!!!!!! 200kb/s is a perfectly good speed considering you are on a connection ratio of 1:50 (which is what all isp are normally on) just cos its 2mb doesnt mean you dont share the line with other people. im on 1mb and i get speeds of about 120kb/s! so stop complaining cos its the same everywhere.

I'm sure they must have some satisfied customers who have never had a problem but they appear to be the minority.

No its not the same everywhere, with some isp's you actually get what you pay for.
Just go here and compare, take your pick from any 6, and I bet theres not many worse than Tiscali, except for E7even, and their having major problems.
