  • It sounds like I'll have to buy something of a similar value then claim it never arrived, just to balance things up. What a great system !

It is great...until cheats and thieves come along and ruin it for the decent folk...looks like you decided to join the non decent folks.....................
if i had known then what i know now

Just for future reference, always send stuff recorded delivery - especially when it leaves the country.

It is bad when you get lumped with a refund the first time - learn from it so hopefully it won't happen again.

I've sold quite a lot to various European countries via Ebay and it does seem that items 'go missing' in some countries more than others.

For me Italy seems quite bad but the old 'Eastern Block' have been ok.

I've made claims with certificates of postage with Royal Mail and although it does take quite a while for claims for missing international mail to get processed they eventually do so you will get your money back (up to £36 as stated).

You can't use recorded overseas it is a uk service only. The nearest option is airsure which costs an additional £4.20 per item .if you added £4.20 to the p and p for low cost overseas parcles you would never sell a thing. Also, non UK/US addresses are not confirmed anyway so you would still lose a paypal claim.

everything I sell overseas has the Airsure
cost included in the postal cost and if its not
avaiable for the country I am posting to then
I use international signed for.No exceptions
regardless of how low in cost the item is.Its
put a complete stop to overseas losses and
I know that it may not look as a attractive
as other sellers selling similar or same items
with a lower postal rate, but I stil sell overseas
on a regular basis without any complaints
    from bidders

    I have won a PayPal claim for non-receipt to a non-confirmed address.

I have a friend who sells musical equipment all over Europe; he always ships AirSure and he has won every PayPal claim for non-receipt.

All PayPal ask you for is a tracking number. If it shows delivery, then you win.

However, it looks as though all that is going to change on the 30th September when PayPal's new T&Cs come into force.

Won't it be nice to be able to agree? ;)

Do you know how you go about doing this ?

you need to fill in a P58 claim form, available from the post office or online from royalmail.com

attach the original (not photocopy) proof of posting from the post office, also attach a copy of the Ebay page or Paypal receipt of payment.

send it freepost to the International address, postcode starting ST not PL

and please make sure that when you sign and date it that the date you sign is 20 WORKING days (mon to fri) since you posted it

3 guesses where i work lol

I haven't got my head round the changes yet

Personally the one thing I want to see is full seller protection against credit card claims for fraudulent use of a credit card.

Many thanks, though the website says it has to be a minimum of 25 working days ;)
