My OH has asked for this, I shall order it from Play.com then, didn't get the £5 voucher though unfortunately.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D
  • Floatation tank sessions - great for lowering blood pressure, aches and pains.

    3 sessions for £70 on https://www.lastminute.com
    single sessions from £35

Also - https://www.float.co.uk, https://www.londonfloatcentre.com, https://www.floatopia.co.uk, (Floatation tank Association has list of some Uk based float spas - http://www.floatationtankassociation.net).

Similar prices to Last Minute but you know the location before booking so I will probably use one of these. 3 sessions are recommended to get full benefits but one would still be a good present.

If I don't get the voucher there's always WHSmith, £9.49 for the hardback.

*cough* Please read the title of this thread. Its not about what junk you bought them, its about what they want! I bought DH a load of "lovely" things for Xmas 2004, ended up putting most of them on ebay in January 2005. What do men want?????

Plain cotton aprons at ASDA, only a couple of quid. I used a sheet of iron on transfer paper that I got free from Avery (sadly, deal now ended, but WHSmith have some) to personalise it with Buffy font and silly slogan. My friend was v. v. pleased, she is a Buffy Addict (HELLO SALLY)

I want to know WHAT it is exactly that men want, I have got someone to buy for and I haven't got clue. One of these 'man who has everything' types. Cant do the clingfilm thing his parents are coming over for xmas day

  • Thing: Epson Inkjet Printer that prints onto Cd's/DVD's (there are varying models)
    Bargain Price: I Paid £62.00
Cheapest place to get it: I got mine from Comet as it had free delivery, cos I can't get it on my scooter
Who its suitable for: Music mad men / Amateur Photographers

Those who download music from internet and actually want to put it onto a CD (rather than an IPOD or MP3) and then print onto the CD rather than use the sticky label thing that invariably comes off when damp or played quite a lot.

It's also good for photos too apparently and if you go for the R300 model it has a card reader and mini screen, so photos can be printed without the use of a computer, and as the inks are all seperate, you only replace the cartridges that you use which can be found quite cheap if you look around.

  • From a Man's point of view here's what I want, and don't want:

Not a big fan of getting DVD's as I only ever watch them once, then they never see the light of day again. My girlfriend always gets my clothes, she's got excellent taste and as I hate shopping, I rarely buy things the rest of the year unless I happen to be dragged into town.

She's going to get me (maybe?) a funky jumper, smart trousers, I'm happy with either designer clothes or stuff from H&M, just as long as it looks good on me!

I like gadget things, but only useful stuff. My sister once bought me a robot dog, never got used, gave it to my nephew. So things like a DVD writer for the computer (can pick them up cheaply), memory sticks for my camera/phone.

I read occasionally, you can't go wrong with proper books like Catch 22, 1984, Dirty Dozen, Da Vinci Code.

I'm also a vinyl junkie so any classic sets of vinyl e.g. chemical brothers, prodigy etc would go down a treat.

Buy him a cheap return flight to Budapest, Prague, Slovakia with one for yourself if you don't trust him! You can sort out accomodation closer to the time if you can't afford it all now. I did the same for my girlfriend a couple of years ago and it was awesome, would be very happy receiving it as well!

I would hate someone buying me lottery tickets (unless they won of course), but on the whole, obviously, that wouldn't be the case, so a waste of time.

Some kind of adrenaline day out would be cool, quad biking, paintballing, go-ape would be happily received.

I'm also into useful books, things that tell me things I don't already know. If you buy me a fiction book it has to be something I really really want to read, but non-fiction, anything that makes me smarter is good!!
  • Oh yeah, and tickets are a good idea:

To a favourite band, club, premiership match, champions league match - this season its easier than ever to get premiership/european tickets as attendances have gone down at many big clubs and ticketmaster often have them on there. If not there's always ebay!
