My dad runs his own electrical business...(a bit of a workaholic) so electrical gifts are out. He doesn't really have many hobbies and he hardly drinks.
I have the same problem trying to avoid the jumper and socks gifts which I know he likes, but also know that it's what everyone else will get him.
Recent gifts include compact binoculars, food hamper full of his favourites, stuff for the car, new suitcase.
Any ideas?

Don't think oh dear is really strong enough!!!Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

If money is no object, there was a piece in our local paper today about some courses at Raymond Blanc's cookery school next year for £250 per day (gulp!), on various subjects.
If you are in the Bournemouth area, the Norfolk Royale Hotel are doing a series of 1 day cookery workshops at £25 each, different subjects. I'm doing 3 of them myself next year, I think there are 4 or 5 planned, and lunch is included."Stay Wonky":D
