My Mum buys all of Aimee's shoes too! And I get the same line as you Sami... 'You always had Clarks shoes' (She doesn't remember me wearing shoes till I was walking out of them and my Nan having to replace them though!)

I have to share this with you... Lying in bed this morning at 6ish I heard Aimee starting to make whingey noises... Even now she sometimes wakes up crying and I thought this morning was going to be one of those days... Then it suddenly changed to a little chorus of "It's my birthday tomorrow" over and over again, then started telling her sleepy kitty how great it was... It was one of those moments that money can't buy... One you wish you could bottle.... She'll be 5 tomorrow and this is the first birthday she's been completely prepared for and really excited about....
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

oohh I so want to be able to buy cute pink shoes!!!!
Can I ask tho what do you get her to match red or navy outfits? (if she has any) they are my fave colours in baby girls clothes but although I don't mind putting them in next/asda/tesco etc shoes I wouldn't want to be wearing them alot and clarks only seem to do pink, lilac or black shoes for girls. Anyone know if start rite come in more colours? there is a stockist nearby that my mum wants to visit (me too but I'm sure I'll feint as its a designer kid shop and I'll want to buy lots of lush but hideously expensive stuff :()
I know its a bit wrong but I think I'll cry for just a little minute if this bump is a boy :o :shhh:
Ladybird - I was looking at trainers last week and asking opinions from the pregnant ladies and a few of the ladies who already had children have matching shoes :D I'm considering getting Chris some adidas shell toes - his Daddy and I have them and they are fab but they would all be in diff colours ;) there are millions of colours/designs available theses days its quite easy to get not exact copies so maybe that will be a nice compromise :) (Chris is currently in adidas stan smiths white & green and I have some but mine are red :D)

Krystal that is very sweet :D

  • I expect we can get matching wellies for the allotment at least! My current summer shoes were from clarkes back to school range and I love them :) My Winter boots are Timberland kids ones, but were still £60 for kids... When I first started buying my own shoes, boots for grown ups weren't much more than that! (Mind you, they are the most exciting boots in the world - they have pockets on ... I assume you are meant to use them for your bus fair or something!)

Imogen has some navy mary janes with flowers embroidered on. They are from Hush Puppies as a new outlet store has opened near us. Still £20 though! They look fine with her denim, navy and red stuff. They are nubuck suede and have a special coating (endorsed by Good Housekeeping doncha know!) which means the water just runs off them. I can personally vouch this is true and they are looking much better than her previous suede-type shoes have after she's kicked around in them for a few months.

SIL works for a big shoe importers - they do Next, Mothercare, George etc. so Imogen gets free shoes every once in a while. This time it was Fifi trainers (the first time she's had trainers) and Fifi black patent mary janes - so cute!

    Grrr. Twice.

One - went into clarks and at last his feet have grown, so the assistant goes and brings the ONLY pair they have in his size . So I say, ooh, I prefer these brown ones. Well, the navy is the only one I have, she says (whatever happened to ordering stock for a customer). So to make my mind up I put him in one navy and one brown to compare. Yes, I prefer the brown, I suppose I'll have to go to a different branch. At hearing this the assistant pulled the shoes off Joseph's feet, packed them away and walked off .

Two - I have just spent precious minutes of relaxing time (he's asleep) folding away his washing and it seems EVERY single piece of his clothing has a stain on it. I understand some stuff like bolognaise or banana is going to stay, but I'm sure everything else used to disappear. Is my washing machine broken?

Thanks, I feel better already, now where did I put that coffee...

I try and match stuff to the shoes! Like if she had navy skirt or trousers on, I'd put a pink t-shirt on to match the shoes.

I try and get shoes that are a cross between normal and sporty looking, so they look ok with both skirts and dresses or with jeans and jogging bottoms. I think it looks odd when they have jogging bottoms and a leather t-bar shoe, or a dress with trainers.
I know its a bit wrong but I think I'll cry for just a little minute if this bump is a boy :o :shhh:

When I was expecting James, I was really wishing he was a girl :o When he was born I was sitting proped up on the bed, when my waters broke and he shot out all at the same time. He'd inhaled lots of fluid and they were dangling him upside down by his ankles so when I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was his testicles and I realised he wasn't a girl after all :rotfl:

Cheaper having two boys though, as a lot of his stuff has been hand me down's and it's only been recently that he's been complaining as he doesn't like Joshua's taste in clothes now.

I routinely throw a scoop of Vanish Oxy Action in with the childrens clothes to get all the food stains and general muck out of them. If it's a bad stain like bolognaise, I spray it with Shout spray too.
Here I go again on my own....

My Mam does too! She's still buys the boys school shoes but I buy their PE trainers and cheap shoes for playing out in. She used to be a Clarks fitter and is obsessed with buying properly fitted shoes.

Charlottes old shoes were a 5½ but she's gone up to a size 7  We got these ones and they came with a free Molly the cat and a book :D

Aw, they are so cute! Here are Poppy's current ones:

I get the old 'you always had Clarks shoes' from my Mummy too! :D. Mum saves all her £2 coins and gives me the money every few months or so as soon as its £100 to buy anything I need for the children. And with Poppy's shoes costing £28 , I'm really grateful!

    xx

Thanks Lu! I think said designer shop listed hush puppies as one of the brands they stock so maybe I should check them out once I find out :D purely research you understand ;)
Is the good housekeeping coating thing a spray that you bought or is it on the shoes when u buy?
