Hi i am new to this so i dont know if this the correct forum but just want to warn everyone about what happened to me.I was contacted by a company asking if i would like some gardening magazines for £1 for 3 issues as a gardening fanatic i jumped at the chance stupidly i gave them all the details of my debit card,i asked what would happen when the free issues finished, the lady told me nothing would happen and that no further money would be taken unless i asked for a continuation of my subscrpition.Well i am sure you have guessed they took out £22 from my account,i never recieved any paper work telling me about a direct debit it just happened,so all i am saying is dont believe them unless they are honest about it,and tell you they are going to set up a dd,i am currently attempting to get my money back but dont hold out much hope.Soory if i have ranted a bit but dont want it to happen to anyone else.Paul:mad:

Inform your bank that you are requesting a direct debit indemnity and that will see you funds returned.0

Which? magazine up to their old tricks again, I would guess.0

I had the same problem a few months ago, phoned my bank and they mark it as a unauthorised Direct Debit and I got my money back straight away.0

Just thought, is it a DD or is it a re-occuring Visa Transaction they have set up for you ?, if it is DD you will be able to cancel if it is a Re-occurring Visa Transaction the bank can do nothing about it at all and the company can continue to charge you until your card number is changed or stopped.0

IPC Media have done this to me before....even when I have written in to cancel the direct debit WELL before receiving the third issue, as instructed in the first place. My bank were useless (name and shame NATWEST) and refused to help, so I had to do it on my own...I won in the end but had loads of charges from Natwest for going overdrawn with the 2 direct debits (I went for 2 different magazine trials).0
