Hi
Did this messgae come in an email ? because it sounds like a spoof email.
If it didnt, and you cannot log in, it might be because someone has tried to steal your identity, it happened to me last year, I couldnt log in. I emailed them and they replied that there had been suspicious activity on my account, so as a precaution they put a stop on my account, it took a few days to sort out.
It was a relief in a way to know they are looking out for us !
Hope this is useful0 -
they replied to me. they want receipts and proof that i legally owned all the stuff i have sold. That'll take a while if i even have them
also documentation proving i am who i am.
this is all through ebays 'my messages' so i know it is genuine0 -
I heard a new scam on ebay supposedly is to do with selling psp's .... That must have something to do with it then (my guess a whole lorry full must have been stolen and police are putting pressure on ebay because they know thats where it will end up)0

Yes DRiz there was something in the papers about it, I remember now. The manufacturers said that anyone selling PSPs must be doing it illegally as only registered dealers had been supplied, Therefore they would be taking action against smaller retailers with stocks that they can't prove they bought officially.
I suppose then that makes this a Vero matter after all.
It's not only games manufacturers that do this, a lot of clothing manufacturers do it as well on the basis they only supply certain shops. It doesn't of course allow for the fact that many of us buy cheaply from official retailers and can turn a little profit on ebay. That doesn't mean we are selling stuff illegally, it just means the retailers don't like their stuff 'sold on' via a third party.

Yep and it has happened before. One powerseller got suspended because he was selling brand new sealed Xbox games and someone reported him to Vero and they pulled all his listings. So he was left with thousands of games to shift and if he listed them again his account would be suspended.
Whatever you sell, if someone reports you to Vero or even eBay saying you are selling fakes/pirates, even if you are not, eBay will pull your listings and you’ll get a warning from Vero.
VERO only intervene if another ebay member has reported you specifically to them.
Also, if this did have something to do with VERO they would send you a separate e-mail explaining why they pulled your listing from eBay and you wouldn’t get suspended just on the first warning, it’s if you then list the same item again after you’ve had the warning from VERO that you get suspended.
You don’t get suspended from eBay without a reason, eBay always send out one message to your eBay messages and another to your registered e-mail address detailing a specific clause you have broken and why you are being suspended and how long for i.e 30 days, permanent etc. It makes no sense from what you have explained as to why you’ve been suspended. Sorry to cast doubt here if you are being honest but is there more to this story?

I am getting confused by your use of the term VeRO. VeRO, as in the company owning the intellectual property rights (the verified rights owner), may monitor ebay for offending auctions and ask ebay to take them down without a user reporting them. Ebay users cannot report VeRO issues to ebay directly, they would have to contact the relevant company and alert them to the supposed illegitimate auctions.the*dark*one wrote:VERO only intervene if another ebay member has reported you specifically to them.0 -

Yes I know that, maybe I wasn't clear in what I said. The majority of listings pulled from eBay due to Vero are because another eBay member has reported your listing directly to Vero who then get in touch with eBay to end the listing(s). Some companies who have registered with Vero regularly patrol eBay to make sure their brand name is not being exploited/copied.
If your listing is ended because Vero informed eBay to end it, you would get an e-mail from eBay AND Vero.0 -

Sorry masonic that's probably my fault. I am throwing the word VeRO round without explaining my understanding of it.
I just know that certain manufacturers protect their name and will get listings pulled where they believe their name is being misused or used by people who do not have a 'right' as far as they see it to sell their items. I've probably misunderstood horribly, so will leave this one for you to explain. I do know though that every now and then certain manufacturers especially on electrical goods or DVDs get everything pulled for infringment of some selling rights or other.
