Broadband for oldies!

    From what I have seen in the past, adsl is extremly simpler and more manageble for less experienced people than dial-up.
    If she can use dial-up I really doubt she can have any problem with adsl, once this is set-up (and it will take a couple of weeks with line activation).

    After that and after modem settings, there is really nothing to touch anymore!
    So, I would not really be worried too much about tech support and try to get the most realible provider out there to be sure that the problems on their end are reduced at the very minimum.

    Do not look for fast connections or high tech providers as these are always full of enthusiasts and at the end do a lot of changes/upgrades which often undermine the stability. During my recent search of ADSL for my own access I have seen lots of different types of services, and believe it or not some of the cheapest around really seem also reliable for basic connections (when you do not need a fast pipe, don't care about ping times, never connect your Xbox to Internet etc). Only one I would suggest to avoid is Tiscali because of their huge problems in everything (setting-up, lines, billing etc).
    Any of the others should do.
