Gadget Helpline

I bought a phone from e2save. Stupidly I didn't cancel the extra 'Gadget Helpline' and I've been charged £17.94. It's advertised as something that is £2.99 a month and bills 6 months at a time.
I want to know if I cancel do I get any of this money back? The terms and conditions says that if I do cancel I have to pay an admin fee of £5. Is this deducted from the refund or do they get to keep the £17.94 and get another £5 out of me?
The terms and conditions doesn't seem to clear but it doesn't say I'm tied to a minimum term and seems to state that it's a monthly service. So I'm guessing they can't have payment for months where they don't provide a service?

You've made a basic mistake. Seems to me you can only ask them, but if they won't play ball looks like you're stuck.0

Call them up on 0870.429.6046.
Its a ridiculous service. I cancelled it one week before the end of free period, yet they debited the amount from my account. They've told me that they will refund the amount in 10 days, but I'm still waiting.
Logically, you should not have to pay more than 3 pounds (for a month) if you don't want the services.
I wonder if there is any place to raise complaints against organizations like this.0 -

Gadget Helpline.com comes as part of many mobile packages..After you get your phone you get a welcome pack offering to cancel or not-Its that simple-If you want to cancel you can..If you forget obviously you will get charged. The company is regulated by the DD guarantee, so you have rights.
A refund is always offered if you ask for it-Anyway really for less than a pint of beer a month its a great service if you cant be bothered to call endless holding call centres about your gadgets.0 -
Well, yes it's up to the person who receives it to cancel if they don't want the service. I suppose it's an OK service if you're not technically minded.
I suspect a lot of people don't need such a service and forget to cancel and that's where gadget helpline makes a good chunk of their money because relying on people who find the service useful to fund them wouldn't be enough.0 -
Good luck trying to cancel. At no point when I purchased my phone was I made aware that I would be signed up for this trial. One month's free insurance that I'd have to cancel if I didn't want it, I new about that yes, but not this. The first I knew about this was when I received a letter in the post the day after the phone arrived and I immediately went to the website to cancel. The 'click here to cancel' link doesn't work and the e-mail address on the site and another in the letter I received are both invalid. I tried the phone number supplied by kaushal101 in an earlier post and got a recorded message saying I'd be put through to an operator and was then cut off and finally I called the number provided to speak to the team of advisers (a service that genuine subscribers are actually paying for), got the same recorded message and was again cut off. My only recourse now is to write to them and to the bank to cancel the direct debit, but should it really be so difficult to cancel a trial I never required, requested or even knew about?0

If you go to their website and go to the contact bit, if you have your reference number, bank account number. They have a cancel function online.

The website is not working as even I wanted to cancel it.
I think I will just cancel the DDI wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
I had cancelled the service via their website. I was unsure of the result, so I cancelled by calling them.
I also cancel the DD from online banking. But I was a bit too late. They charged me 17£. I called them up again, and they refunded the money because I had cancelled it before the first trial month was over.0
