I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Feedback is what you think of the other user overall performance.

    1. It should not therefore be influenced by what they think of you so feedback should be kept secret until both parties have left feedback or the period for leaving feedback expires, at which point the feedback left from only one side becomes visible. This system has it's flaws too, but I think it will be better overall. The period for leaving feedback could also be reduced to say 21 days.

    2. It is not adequate to categorize this into good, neutral, poor, I want more categories. Perhaps a score of out 10?

Can anyone confirm if a buyer is still able to leave feedback if they are no longer a registered user? A buyer won my item, took absolutely ages to pay after numerous invoices and an unpaid item dispute. During this time, she was NARU'ed, though we completed our transaction. I want to leave a negative but don't want her to able to leave a retaliatory.

    Thanks.

The feedback new rules were meant to take effect in November so should be applicable- about time too. Yes I have gave up the idea of the golden 100% feedback. For two reasons plenty of people have rubbish feedback and people still buy from them. And secondily it is one persons opinion - that person might be right or wrong but its from THEIR view - thay might hate anything you do for them. With the exception of non payers who have never had any service so I will get their feedback removed.
So now I just give as good a service as I can and leave the feedback to itself.
Heck someone could neg me because they hate mondays !

As a buyer and not a seller, I think I am entitled to give honest feedback. Having paid within a few minuted of closing, am I not entitled to receive my goods in a reasonable time? 17 days as far as I am concerned is too long, so I will give Neg feedback. Is that not fair?

Why did someone say that wasn't fair? Its when people - usually newbies - leave feedback without contacting you first to say there is a problem AND the examples above happen, THEN its not fair.

For example, i bought a load of items from a car dealer that was closing, all the same, and started listing them on ebay, they averaged £22+ when sold. One newbie left a negative saying her item wasn't as described and badly packaged and wham - average price now is £12. I have no idea what happened hers - maybe it was driven over by a Post Office van or something - but she gave me no chance to sort it out and gave no thought for my feedback or the effect it would have. GRRRRR!
  • i sold my old car on ebay for £5800 to some german that wanted me to deliver the car and pay me £9000 then send him the change back, i got carged £58 for selling it, had to fight ebay to get the money £58 back (which i did get back) and endded up having to relist it again, their should be a law about that!

If your buyer is now NARU, they will not be able to leave any feedback - neither will you for that particular transaction.

If they are subsequently reinstated (not all NARUs are permanent) both parties will be able to leave feedback for the transaction, so be careful if you worried about a retaliatory neg...

    Classic 419 scam!!
If I leave feedback for a non-performing seller who has also ran away with my dosh(I have won all the disputes both ebay and paypal) can she neg me back?
She has made her feedback private in the last few days but has recieved another neg today.
She has aslo given reliatory negs too.

That's one of my moans with e-bay. No seller wants neg feedback, and so if they get some then they neg you back for the hell of it... That can't be right. I always offer positive if it's good quality, as described and sent in a reasonable amount of time. You can't grumble if you get poor feedback for a poor service.

I'm honest enough to say I've got 20 negatives (but I have 2500 positives) and I'd say that 99.99% of them were from people who bid on things and don't pay up so they get a negative then I get one back.

I thought ebay were changing the rules so that non paying bidders couldnt leave feedback?
