Oh - nothing scandalous - just the interest rate debacle.

Alliance and Leicester. Everything from bad customer service to terrible internet/phone banking.

Barclays are pretty shoddy as well.

Lloyds are the best in my opinion, though I'm not 18 yet, so haven't hit the world of credit.

keep it that way mate is my advice. the sooner you want to borrow from them the worse they are- even though without credit & debt they would make very little, you would think they should try and keep thier paying customers sweet. I dont blame banks for treating me badly now, after all they make !!!!!! all out of me!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

NatWest charges my sister&brother in law £260 a year for personal banker. Last week they just bounced her cheque for £70k which (answer was "we cannot see the reason why" by the way) she wanted to move to different bank to better saving account and this "personal banker" didn't even call her! When sister was calling her, she never picked up, sis went to the branch twice, "yes madam, we will pass the message and she will call you first thing on Monday morning", banker still didn't call and then sister found out that "the banker" has changed her number without letting them know! What a service...
  • Don't no about the worst but what i do no is none of them are to be trusted, and at last they are getting what they deserve Consumer Revenge, mainly down to Money Saving Expert web site and its users.:T

  • NatWest for over hard selling tactics. You can't pay in a fiver without being sold something. I started to have my 'reasons for not wanting Advantage Gold' speech worked out for when I went in there.

Abbey for being a complete pretence of a bank.

I hate Halifax, for the fact my mum opened an account in her surname (second marriage) so when I went to close it they wouldn't let me because I couldn't prove this was my name (as my birth name was different), or answer the security question 'where did you open this account?' baring in mind, the account was opened when I was about 5. I said this to the woman and she goes 'sorry can't do it, you can't answer the question, bad luck'. So I just withdrew all my money (as I have the card and knew the pin number!!!), leaving 1p and hoped they would close it after a while.

    Idiots.

NatWest and Alliance and Leicester without a doubt..

NatWest made a horrendous foul-up of my account - including....
ignoring requests to cancel direct debits, losing money when it had been paid in, bouncing cheques and DD's for no good reason, then charging me when it had been their fault (all charges refunded, but left my disabled partner and I without heat, light or food over xmas.. thank god for relatives nearby) refusing to allow me access to my wages from my new job as it was a 'suspicious transaction' hmmm... what else.... oh yeah, half the time the right hand didnt know what the left hand was doing with them. Oh and not forgetting flagging up to ring for authorisation after I had used my card twice in a row.... how unbelieveable is that????? I once got a letter from them on a Monday morning after a heavy weekend demanding I ring and explain myself as to why i had spent so much money and exactly what on! - what on earth has it got to do with them if I want to spend all my hard-earned wages in the pub?! I didnt owe them any money so every penny in that account was mine!!! Then they sulked when I said I was moving to A&L cos I would get a better account there.... which brings me neatly on....

I didnt actually have any problems at first.... in fact the branch near where I used to work were so fantastic nothing was too much trouble - in fact the branch manager once gave me 50p from her own pocket to get to work when a CHAPS transfer I was waiting for was late! And if I had a problem they would sort it for me, but its just lately the problems are starting....
When I applied for an overdraft, they said 'you use your account too heavily on non-essential things!' What???? again, what the heck has it got to do with them???? Then there was the problem with my card being read as Visa Electron but them insisting it was a Visa Debit (until I finally got one of their employees to admit yes they knew about this but werent going to make any attempt to rectify it) then keep getting fobbed off (and picking up a fair few whopping great lies from their employees on the way - for instance, ddi you know you cant use a Visa Electron anywhere but a cash machine and shops that accept them?? you most certainly cannot use them online or over the phone! Are you sure? says I. Oh yes, you cannot use them online as they are electronic use only. said she.... Oh dearie me. They picked on the wrong person.... I used to work for Abbey! they were going on like I didnt have a clue between the different cards but they're gonna be sorry they messed with me soon!

    Rant over!
